Photography is one of the most important aspects of my life, and I love getting to showcase all of my wonderful customers and their families off, but I thought I'd take a moment to showcase a little of my own personal work and life!
As many of you may know.... but maybe you don't because you are new to follow me...let me give you a little piece of my personal life.
I LOVE.... I mean LOVE the Iowa State Fair!!
My husband (Matt) of almost 12 years is originally from Iowa. I learned very early on (like before we were even dating) that the fair was a HUGE deal!
Together we just wrapped up #16 (should be 17.. thanks covid 🤮
From the very first fair we attended, I bought a little crock as a keepsake- just one little weird thing I like to collect & remind me of all the years/memories this place has given me.
In 2018 I took a leap and enter some photography into the ISF photography salon and was lucky enough to get a 3rd place ribbon. Every year since I have entered photos and have always had something at least on display, occasionally earning a ribbon here and there, but never placing any higher than a 3rd. This year topped that, and I couldn't be more honored.

Photography is not just a "job" to me. I honestly take great pride in it. I do not believe in AI or "culling software's". I hand sort through (sometimes thousands) all of the pictures, hand edit, and deliever my work. All me.... No Artifical crap. Sorry...this does take more time, but in my opinion, it's worth the wait & what keeps my work, MY work. I am not just some software edited filtered photo mumbojumbo!
If you don't know, I work as a Dental Hygienist (which I refer to as my "real" job), I am a mom to our son Chet, and along with that, my husband and I raise Cattle, a few hogs, and Chickens. We have a small cow calf operation and do a small custom haying business. I also volunteer on our local Rescue Squad..... and THEN I do pictures. (So believe me time is valuable...VERY VERY valuable. I don't give it away sparingly.
To those of you who are still with me at this point, I guess the point I am trying to make is, I am soooooooo blessed to get to ALWAYS take a little time off during this point of summer when, work, more work....and even more work, constantly loom over us! To be able to do what we love and make some small memories as a family doing what we love means more to this Mommas heart can actully handle.
SO, if you are waiting on your galleries (which quiet a few of you are 🫣).....I THANK YOU for your patience. I also, thank each and every one of you for CONSTANTLY choosing me to capture your special moments, because much like my own, I truly know the value in them!
