Rest easy, Randy.
Not every loss in this profession is a line of duty death, but that does not make it any less meaningful.
From everything I’ve heard, Randy was the kind of guy people genuinely loved being around. He had the kind of personality that made a lasting impact, not just because of the work he did, but because of who he was. He brought a lot of positivity with him, made people feel welcome, and left behind the kind of reputation that says everything about a person.
He made a real impact on Chicago PD, especially within the bike unit, and it is obvious he meant a lot to a lot of people. Some people are remembered for a title or a position. Others are remembered for the way they carried themselves and the effect they had on everyone around them. From everything being said, Randy was clearly that kind of person.
He will be missed, and his impact will not be forgotten.
