I think some of us are too busy right now focusing on building content and ensuring it fits the narrative of everyone else's wants. But, we shouldn't forget also to go back to our roots, and spark some creativity occasionally!

Phew! After a few long weeks I'm finally feeling more sound in life again. It's been busy both professionally and personally. I let the house go, ate out too much, and completely ignored social media but little by little I've been checking tasks off my list and I'm now seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, which is an absolute great feeling. One more wedding gallery to get out and then I have some free weekends before vacation time!

I haven't introduced myself on here for a while so I thought I'd do that again. A big warm hello to all of you My name is Kelsey and I'm the creative, driving force, and dreamer behind Champagne & Pearl!

When I was in college I fell in love with photography after taking a photography class to satisfy my open elective credits at school. I had no idea what I was doing in class but with a lot of practice doing portraits and a passion to do more, in 2016 I decided to go for it and so Champagne & Pearl was born.

I spend most of my days working 9-5 and my evenings editing photos, making website changes, and client guides, oh also can't forget 50 thousand reels! I love every minute of it though. For me, what I do is so much more than just a job or side hustle, it's something I picture myself doing for years to come because it allows me to both express myself but also see the light of love/joy possible in a world full of darkness in the memories I capture. Simply put, it's not about the money to me, I just love what I do!

I'm also an Interior designer - obsessed with mid-century modern and coastal themes/decor. I love collecting a variety of coral to display around my home which drives my husband crazy! Almost as crazy as the number of lamps I need in one room 😅🤣 Designers, huh? 💁‍♀

Today is World Creativity & Innovation Day!

This a global United Nations day celebrated on April 21st to raise awareness around the importance of creativity and innovation in problem-solving, concerning advancing the United Nations' sustainable development goals, also known as the "global goals.

Through photography myself and many other individuals are able to both express ourselves and get a release from mundane everyday life - while also serving others! On a day like today, after work or when the kids are asleep, spend a little you time and do something fun that gets you thinking outside the box!

This past weekend over Easter we were playing some board and card games. After we played the rules ways a couple times I decided to make my own rules to shake things up for some fun and we almost made it through the Oregon trail. See even little things like that count!

There will be no one in the world that cares as much about the life you live, the work you create, the dreams you chase, then you, my friend. So you might as well go live the life you dream of, create things you love, work on things you are passionate about, and push past what others might think is even possible.

Today, I'm taking a moment to reflect on this journey of becoming a (travel) photographer, and how incredibly thankful I am to spend my free time taking photos, spending time with friends or making new ones, mentoring others, and seeing this beautiful world; To find the courage to pursue my dreams and make them a reality.

And maybe, just maybe, inspiring another person in this beautiful world to pursue their dreams too.
