Wedding dress shopping photography, in my personal opinion, is a niche that will grow in the coming years as a package option or add on for brides. It’s a great alternative to engagement sessions to try out a photographer before booking them for the big day. It’s also a great way to see if you actually like how the dress looks when taken with a professional camera.
Focal length, lens type, barrel/lens distortion, and artistic style (to name a few) all play a major role in how images come out. Due to these variables and the different camera anatomies, iPhones and professional camera equipment distort, filter light, and manipulate what the eye perceives differently. And since you’re most likely not hiring someone to take pictures with an iPhone for your wedding, a dress fitting is the perfect opportunity to see if you love your dress just as much on camera, as you do when looking in the mirror (or on your MoH’s iPhone 😉).
Swipe to the end to see the iPhone picture compared to the rest.
What’s your opinion? Would you rather try out a photographer with an engagement session or have them capture the moment you try on 𝓽𝓱𝓮 dress for the first time? Let’s debate in the comments.
