The inaugural was incredible! Tripod Productions was honored to be the media sponsor.

We captured filmmaker Q&As, shot promo and marketing videos, and covered the red carpet. We also moderated the Q&A for Our Mr. Matsura with the amazing filmmakers and

In between shoots we took in as many amazing documentaries as we could. It was an inspiring event all around.

It was incredible to meeting so many talented filmmakers including Amy Goodman and Barbara Kopple!

Very excited to share that Tripod Productions has been granted a 14 CFR §107.39 waiver, allowing us to operate drones over people. This approval was made possible in part by a parachute system, which adds an additional level of safety to our drone operations. We’re always working to expand our skills and services we offer our clients. If you have a project that could benefit from this capability, we’d love to talk!

Also, a big thanks to for helping me put together the FAA application, they’re an excellent pilot and great person!

This year I worked as a drone operator on several Savannah Banana ESPN broadcasts. It was a very unique experience and a lot of fun. Big thanks to the Savannah Bananas for bringing me out!

In February I went up to Asheville to do drone work for surveying Hurricane Helene storm damage for the Army Corp of Engineers. When I went up I had no idea the scope of the job, how incredible it would be, or how much it would impact me.

The job was 7 days a week, no days off, for 161 days. We used drones to fly waterways and look for storm debris, inspect infrastructure, and eventually used LiDAR to scan the trucks used to haul away debris.

Many of my colleagues, like myself, were from Savannah and were from the video production industry. I ended up forming some great friendships that I’m sure will last well past this gig.

Thank you Shamrock Plus for bringing me out to NC for the job. Now I’m finally home and I’m looking forward to settling into the new house in Savannah and working on some new projects. But it’s been a incredible year so far.

EducationWeek just published a story I shot about yoga helping elementary students in SC cope with trauma from Hurricane Helene. As someone who grew up in upstate SC this was an important story to me.
