On December 10th my sweet big brother was killed in a hit and run crash while riding his bike. He was my best friend and biggest supporter of my photography business and art work. My heart has been shattered as we are still looking for who did this to my sweet Blasier. All I do is keep going back to this photo session we did together a few years ago. He kept asking me for some “sick bike shots” and we spent the afternoon laughing and enjoying the sunny day. Anyone who knows me knows my two brothers and family are everything to me.
As for my brother he was light in a world that can be so dark. He lived well and loved even harder. In his 31 years of life he connected with so many amazing individuals while traveling the world cycling. He was the hardest worker I have ever met and the kindest soul always pushing others to be better than they were the day before. His smile and laugh were contagious and his zest for life was bigger than the sun. I am not sure how life will go on without him or where my life will lead after this, but I had to share a few of my favorite photos of him. My sweet Blaise, I love you beyond words 🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵

It’s been well over a decade since I picked up my first camera and photographed with 💛

Allie was the first person who first put the idea in my head that I could do this whole photography thing. I am SO lucky I had a creative best friend to run around town with. We would drive all over our little town in Iowa changing outfits in the car to match the vibe we were going for and just be our authentic selves. This importune beach session together brought me back to those moments where it all started!

No matter how much time has passed my passion and motto for photography will remain the same: Photography is the art of observation and the way you see things. It’s about finding something extraordinary in an ordinary place. It’s been a journey but I’m forever grateful for this wonderful creative journey 🥹
