Y’all might’ve already moved on & forgotten about last Friday’s “Road to Point Fest” concert sesh at Pop's Nightclub and Concert Venue, but I’m still reeling from this fever dream of a show!! I had a little hiatus from music photography planned, but when I received a last minute message from The Scatterguns saying they were in need of a photographer for this momentous event, I had to crawl out of my lament & make it happen for them. I *might’ve* came flying in the venue like a bat outta hell 5 mins late into their set, but I honestly feel like that just added to the whole vibe. I was literally RUNNIN’ & GUNNIN’ for these guys!!! And these Cape County outlaws surely DID NOT DISAPPOINT.

Get your pistols, get your knives, and all the ammo you got because when you see The Scatterguns live you’ll want to start a scrappy fight in the parking lot. This quartet of pure thrash, mash, and southern trash definitely brought ALL THEIR FIRE POWER this night. I was extremely surprised by their sheer badassery. Dare I say these gunners gave us more energy than Green Day did at the Super Bowl?! Yeah, they 100% blew em out of the water. (Sorry Billie!) I’m so glad these guys made the trip up north to give these St. Louis yankees a taste of that good ole Southeast sound. I have to admit, it was very nice to get back in touch with my trailer trash roots after being in the city so long. One thing about when the gunners are on stage… anything goes. Watch out if you’re in the front row because you might get a crushed beer can to the dome or a steel toe boot to the nose when their frontman Josh gets in the zone & goes ballistic on ya. There won’t be any time for Fightin’ Words at all because their guitarist Joseph will be givin’ us the Gibson; shredding that thing like a fully automatic machine gun!! Oh, you thought it was all about the guns?? You must be mistaken because their bassist Curt is actually wielding a heavy metal baseball bat that will knock your head clean off with one powerful swing. They also had a secret weapon at the back of the stage… their drummer Cody who was hunkered down throwing absolute grenades of percussion into the airwaves! All I can say is y’all seriously gave us one HELL OF A SHOW! 🔥🔫☠️

When I say that Jan 17th at the new Fubar Saint Louis was an unforgettable night, I’m not exaggerating!! I might be known to add a lil extra *pizazz* to my concert reviews sometimes, but I assure you all, FUBAR Lounge honestly does live up to their LEGENDARY status. I’m so glad that they decided to have a grand re-opening this year so that I could get a taste of the all the epicness I’ve heard about. I love that our outstanding local music scene now has a new safe place to call home. Great area, great parking, great music, and even greater people, that’s all ya really need in life!

When I saw Isabella announce the flyer for this show with a STACKED line up of all my favorite groups I’ve worked with in my hometown, I dropped all my plans & said I’M THERE!!! No doubt about it, I knew this event was going to be a RIPPER and everyone definitely delivered on that. The whole time I was silently whispering to myself “don’t f**k it up.” because I’m unabashedly a huge fan of these guys and I want to do them justice with my work. Especially since they trusted me enough to put me on the guest list! The pressure was on, but the homies in Isabella made my job easy. They showed up Dressed to Kill as always & surely proceeded to TEAR that brand new stage to PIECES!!! Elder emo guys in skinny jeans & vans screaming at you, shredding your face off with their guitars that F**K, and the kind of bass & rhythm that POUNDS INTO YOUR SOUL!!! What more could you ask for to scratch that raging itch? Dare I say that Tim, Alex, and C**t are the Godfathers of pop punk in the Southeast Missouri area?? Yes, I do dare to say that. With the addition of Zach and C**ton though… their group has evolved into 5 MASTERMINDS of the craft. I’m not the only one who will back these statements up! Everyone in the crowd kept shouting out “BEST BAND IN ST. LOUIS!!” So it has to be true. Their energy is unmatchable. They are LEGENDS. After the show they thanked me for coming out & joked that they’re getting old… There’s absolutely nothing better than watching other small town starving artists like yourself completely OWN an iconic stage like this; it’s truly inspiring and will never get old to me. 🖤

I HAVE TOLD YOU that the new Fubar Saint Louis is fire! 🔥 So far, I HAVE SHOWN YOU how every band who played there on Jan 17th GAVE THEIR ALL & left everything on the stage. I don’t know how much further I can drive that home for ya, but I can try. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Since all of these talented groups came to the show bringin’ the heat this night, I had no trouble filling up almost 3 SD cards full of PHOTOGRAPHIC PROOF that local bands really are the best!!! These smaller shows are the ones to get out there and see for yourself. YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT MIGHT HAPPEN!! There are LITERALLY ZERO dull moments here. You just gotta see it live to get it, dude.

Unknown and Sailing definitely went into this concert with a few cards up their sleeves… They are the ones who reached out to me to bring my camera. I knew when they messaged me that we were about to get an unforgettable performance. I had to make sure I was LOCKED IN the whole time because I SWEAR I could not even BLINK before another goofy or crazy action was happening right before my eyes!! They always leave a lasting impression that makes you think about how unserious life really is; we should all mess around and enjoy it a little more. Their frontman Austin will crack as many jokes as you’ll let him get away with and he’ll have the whole crowd shakin’ ass to math rock by the end of the set. Remember how I said FUBAR is fire?? Well, I wasn’t kidding man. An amp actually BURST INTO FLAMES because Unknown & Sailing’s new song “Better Now” was just too freaking fire it couldn’t handle the massive load of raging good vibrations coming through the wires. Isaac might look like your every day run-of-the-mill Sherlock Holmes mf, but he really knows how to ROCK that REVEREND. 🎸⚡️ The proof is in the pudding, what else can I say? Kwade’s percussive chaos is so sharp & precise it’ll f**king CUT YOU. And Noah’s bass line will have you movin’ and groovin’ like no one’s watching. Put it all together & you get one HELL OF A SHOW!!!! Never a dull moment around these guys, that’s for sure. Thank you all for investing in my art & trusting me to capture the mems 🫶🏻 I hope we’re all doing a little BETTER NOW after this amazing event!

Dude, I swear, from now on, anytime someone asks me where they can go to rock it out til the cows come home I’m going to tell them to make it out to a show at the new Fubar Saint Louis!! The good vibes here seem to be pretty immaculate if you ask me. The A+ parking is even holier. 🙏🏻 (yes, I’m going to keep talking about the parking bc as a stlouian PARKING IS A REAL STRUGGLE AT VENUES!) ((not at the new FUBAR THOUGH 😎)) Great music and even greater people all around; you won’t be disappointed! Seriously, this place is ICONIC for a reason, you gotta check out the new digs. ✨

Speaking of iconic rock n’ roll, Bad Ghost was just as electric as I remembered from Punktoberfest back in October last year when the power went out. Only this time they were definitely rockin’ the house at FULL VOLTAGE!!! ⚡️ I’ll tell you one thing about the Bad Ghostys, they’re gonna make you move to the music whether you like it or not! Their wicked guitar riffs will have you cuttin’ a rug and wanting to start a mosh pit by elbowing a total stranger. These guys really don’t care what you think or what you gotta say about them & I aspire to be as badass as them one day. Zach is a force to be reckoned with when he power strums that six string. Nate’s guitar moves will have you staring in sheer amazement and saying “How does he do that??” 😮🎸 You gotta see it live to get it, man. All of their songs have that good ole rockabilly sound with a modern punk twist. Truly a zero skip band in my opinion!! Recently, my favorite tune by them is “Shameless” because I, myself, am still out here making mistakes & trying to learn my style in the photography world. Thank you guys for helping me in that endeavor by trusting me to take your photos! 📸 I also gotta thank these guys (and their awesome merch girl :)) for becoming my friends at the concert. They are the type of people who will have your back and fight anyone who tries you in any type of way in the pit. Bonus points for my new favorite sticker too. I promise to always be a Bad Ghost, even in the afterlife; let’s all stay mischievous. 👻

What a fun night of pure punkery was had at the newly re-opened and still legendary Fubar Saint Louis back on Jan 17th!

I have to say that I came into this show with very high expectations & I was NOT disappointed. My already elevated ideas of what could go down in this space were definitely exceeded!! Every band brought their ALL and it really showed in my photos when I got back home in the lab to edit them. The new FUBAR location was super kush as well! Great parking, nice area, wonderful atmosphere inside, and friendly people all around… what more could you ask for?! I am eternally grateful to the bands, who all supported me to be there & TRUSTED ME to capture the moment for them on this amazing night; what a dream come true for my live music photography career!!

Flight Jacket always knows how to kick a concert into gear, that’s for sure! I’ve been wondering where their name came from for a bit, but now I see… 🧐 It’s because they will seriously catch some air when they get that crowd energy going! When you get all the homies under one roof, you know the good vibes are going to be ones for the history books. 📚 Now, these dudes might not ever be better than Blink, but I think these Sikeston punk rock cowboys are pretty freakin’ alright for a bunch of family guys who keep saying they’re too old for this sh*t! Their music brings a lot of joy to a lot of people and I hope they always remember that. They have that nostalgic 2000s garage rock sound that we all love to get down to. But most importantly, they remind us to keep breathing no matter what happens & that we are never alone. Keep on kickin’ ass & takin’ names y’all!🤘🏻🤠

The anticipation to post this last set of photos has been weighing on me allll week. I want to always do these bands justice with my photos so that they can all have the memories to share after their shows. I am here to help lift the voices of local artists & keep the conversation going longggg after the curtains close; My mission is as simple as that. 🥰
It’s so nice when iconic hole-in-the-wall venues like Red Flag put on underground events like New Year’s Rage because it gives us all a chance to gather together & give back in our own way.

Everyone knows that I am a diehard fan of SPELLBLADE… it’s no secret. These powerful women inspire me like no other!!! Watching their exponential growth never ceases to amaze me. In only a little over a year these badass babes have DOMINATED the local music scene. I was ecstatic to see them revel in the fact that they are kicking off 2026 with their first headliner. I AM BEYOND PROUD OF THESE CAPE G GIRLIES!!! People come out to these shows JUST TO GET A GLIMPSE OF THEM. I don’t blame anyone who is curious; an all female metal band who I love to call the real life Hex Girls because they will 100% lure you in with their enchanting siren songs! Rachel’s percussion rhythm is so free spirited yet dangerously hypnotizing… add in her sultry witchy voice & you’re already hooked. Elizabeth’s growling screams will have you making your best stank face and stomping your feet like you’re throwing a hissy fit. Briunna the bass slayer might look sweet from the outside, but once she straps that axe across her body, you’re in for trouble when those pounding notes hit your eardrums full force! Make sure to bring your best hearing protection if you ever make it out to one of their performances… actually you might want to bring a full suit of armor because Nikki’s guitar shredding WILL ABSOLUTELY RIP YOU LIMB FROM LIMB with the way she whammies that beautiful six-stringed weapon of hers. I have been blessed enough to attend a few SPELLBLADE shows in my time and I gotta say, witnessing these women create art is something I will never get tired of. KEEP KILLING IT BLADIES!!!!!!

My favorite part about going out to local concerts is the fact that you never know exactlyyy what you’re going to see. 👀✨
Variety is the spice of life after all so I believe we should all try something new & step out of our comfort zones whenever we get the chance. It can be scary, but I think staying afraid & comfortable is wayyy scarier. Plus, when you stumble upon awesomely unique bands like the ones I witnessed at Red Flag New Year’s Rage show it will give you a newfound bravery to get out there & DO THE DAMN THING!

One lesson I have learned in the world of concert photography is to always expect the unexpected… so when Ars Arcanum emerged from the shadows I knew I was in for a jolly good show!! You might be asking yourself what happens when a Viking, Wizard, Princess, Goblin and Elf takeover the stage at an underground metal show?? They take you on an EPIC JOURNEY through their colorful storytelling & their mystical sound waves will transport you to a fantasy world far far away, that’s what! I have never seen a band so committed to the bit & I loved it. They freaking rock!!! Not going to lie, my inner marching band & theater kid self was fangirling to these extremely talented artists, but who really stood out to me was their 1-woman woodwind section that totally killed the flute, saxophone AND penny whistle. Metal mayhem with a touch of class; this is something you will not see ANYWHERE ELSE!! I am convinced that their guitarist is definitely a real life wizard with the way he used his magic star studded fingertips to cast spells on that six string. Their drummer was so bubbly & energetic, 100% the life of the party. I can’t get over their frontman’s stage presence as well. He was giving Axl Rose energy & if you know me, that is a HUGE COMPLIMENT. We can’t forget the goblin king on bass who laid down the NASTIEST licks. They may look like just a ragtag group of misfits, but while listening to their tunes I felt like I could run full speed into a hoard of warlocks & SLAY ALL MY ENEMIES!!! 👹🪓 now that’s what I call inspiration at its finest, my friends :)

What better way to start off a new year than to listen to some new music live?! It’s such a great way to make a new playlist & set the vibes for working towards achieving all your plans & goals. You might even learn a thing or two at the show. At least that’s what happened to me at Red Flag New Year’s Rage show 🙂

Now, I’ve never been out-smoked by a live band before, but Wraith Hammer definitely brought that stoner metal haze & had us all choking on their awesomeness!! 😎💨 The trio came creeping out of the fog onto the stage, the scent of incense filled the air as their mysterious sounds crescendoed in our ears. I was absolutely mesmerized by this band’s performance!! There’s just nothing like that heavy metal doom feeling. Don’t let the “slow” tempo fool you, this band can SHRED & will have you in a head-banging trance. The grave tones will teach you to press the brakes on life & really take in the weight of the present moment; reminding you to BREATHE. Their guitar felt like a never-ending loop of stardust chords singing to my soul. The drums’ rhythms were HYPNOTIZING… I have no other words for it, just speechless! The real pièce de résistance though was their BATTLE AXE of a bass that slashed through all the heavy metal mud with ease. Watching this band was an EXPERIENCE I will not forget. Every time I smell incense, I am transported back to the moment when my eyes were locked on these 3 rockstars, watching their fingers strum magic into the air. Needless to say, my first stoner metal show was eye opening… might I say, THIRD EYE OPENING 🧿 and I’m here for MORE!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!! 🎉🪩💃🏻🥂

A new year means new shows to capture, new bands emerging, & new photos for all to enjoy! 🤗📸🎶
I had to kick off 2026 in the best way I know how, discovering new music at local concerts! My goal this year is to check a lot of St. Louis venues off my bucket list. I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to mark one iconic place off my list already with Red Flag’s New Year’s Rage show!! And boy, it DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!!

When Granite Goliath walked upon the stage we had no idea what we were in for. A 2-man band consisting of only guitar & drums… how could they really wow us? Well, this band 100% lives up to its name because their GIANT WALL OF SOUND hit us all straight in the face without warning! ONE NOTE of that guitar & ONE BEAT from those drums and we were already feeling the heavy metal doom vibes! These two guys definitely know how to rock those thick riffs that really scratch your brain in the right way. The perfect rhythm of this duo was impeccable; you’d never believe it was their first show!! Such a great way to warm up the crowd & set the mood right for the rest of the night. Can’t wait to see & hear more from these guys! They absolutely surprised me with the sheer WEIGHT their tones held in the airwaves. Too cool. 👏😎

Hey man, don’t worry about it, I do too, but guess what?! I have some killer new concert photos from the CGMO Rock Show last weekend that will surely fill the void & cheer you up!! 🤗💙

I can’t believe I was there to witness the last round of these awesome shows! I’m proud & honored to say I got to help capture at least a few moments for the bands & the fans here. My portfolio is so full now!! ♥️ The BIGGEST THANKS to Red Claw Promotions for always orchestrating such amazing events for the coolest people in the area to enjoy. I’ve never been to another place like it; where you can reconnect with old friends or even meet a total stranger & become buddies in the same night. Seriously the BEST inclusive music scene around in my opinion. 👏🏻🦀⚡️

Isabella I know for a fact has been a part of this all from the start!! These guys are local legends to me so please forgive the 12 year-old fangirl in me when I say WOW WHAT A F**KING WONDERFUL WAY TO END THE YEAR OFF!!! 🤩 One thing about Isabella is they know how to rage it out for real! They bring those perfect screamo vibes that make you feel like jumping, moshing, and screaming at the top of your lungs even if you don’t know the words. Their lyrics will hit you deep like a sucker punch, but their melodic guitars will lift you back up on your feet again. Then the drums & bassline will have you marching to your own beat! I can’t even begin to explain what it meant to me to hear, see, and feel the song “Comfort Kills Dreams” live at this time in my life where I’m trying to chase my own crazy dreams. 💭🖤 We all LOVED the OG deep cuts they played for us this night as well. These guys are always kickin’ it old school!! Tim asked the crowd at the end of the show “Are you okay?!” I said “No!! I think I broke my neck from head banging too hard!” He replied with “Good!” 💀

So if you’re wondering what happened to that good ole 2010s emo sound, it’s not dead babe, you just need to get out to one of these Red Claw shows I’M TELLING YOUUUU!!! Don’t sleep on my faves. I simply cannot wait to rock with all of y’all again in the New Year!! ✌🏻

I swear, every time I go out to a Red Claw Promotions show I end up going back home with a whole playlist of new favorite songs to rock out to! That’s why going to their concerts is my favorite pastime. 🤘🏻

Flight Jacket has definitely been cooking up some really great stuff behind the scenes!! It was fun to get to see the little less “family friendly” side of these Sikeston cowboys this time haha. They debuted a few new tunes for all of us on this lovely Saturday night and we ATE IT UP. These guys seriously know how to get every attendee feeling good. Their new single “This is the End” had me banging my head harder than I have all year! It felt amazing to rock with the best music community in the area. When they ended their set with an unreleased song about su***de awareness, I knew that was the reason I needed to be there that night. It’s been a crazy year… a lot has happened, a lot has changed, but when we’re all together enjoying live local music; we are not alone in this room. Thank you guys for bringing us together & reminding us what life is all about. Can’t wait to hear & see more!!

Who else can bring that warm energy that gets everyone outside on a cold night at the end of December? None other than Red Claw Promotions that’s for sure. 🦀⚡️🖤🤘🏻

No Reward (.reward.il on Instagram) definitely got us all cozy and warmed up from the chills we had outside. Everyone was asking “Who is this band??? They’re killer!” I don’t even think they knew who they were… mostly because they said the same thing when they opened up 😂 Known by their fans as “the wayside boys” this post-emo band from Southern Illinois SURELY showed us EXACTLY who they are by the end of their set!! A 4 person quartet of pure Midwest Emo angst; I loved every minute of it! Their lyrics, beats and melodies had us all getting our rage out right along with them. Just what we all needed at the end of this crazy whirlwind of a year!! 💫
