I'm selling prints in support of the PAPER FIG FOUNDATION. Please help me help them and their mission of empowering women in East Africa through Fashion and the Arts.

Dancing with My Friends Makes me Feel Strong.

Hudson Art Fair is selling a small edition of prints by David McIntyre with 50% of the proceeds donated to the Paper Fig Foundation.

https://hudsonartfair.com/dancing-with-my-friends-makes-me-stronger/

The collection and the title were inspired by Tracy Masika from Kasese, Uganda, who, when asked on the International Day of the Girl, "What makes you feel strong?" declared that dancing with her friends made her feel strong.

I thought her reply was, in equal measure, joyful, innocent, and wise.

The prints start at $100, and I think they make terrific gifts while helping girls like Tracy.

Happy Holidays.

Hi Everyone, I’m super excited to have two prints in the 'Protest Art' group show curated by Pauline Decarmo and George Spencer at TSL in Hudson. Please join me and all the featured artists for the opening reception this Saturday the 31st. at 7:00pm

Opening Reception
Saturday the 31st
7:00pm

TIME & SPACE LIMITED, 434 COLUMBIA STREET, HUDSON, NY

Artists are the eyes and ears of society; the proverbial canaries down the mine, primed and ready to raise the alarm. They go far beyond providing historical records of the times in which they live. They ingest, distill, reflect, and ponder upon the events and the forces that impact our daily lives. They are the first to react, to proclaim, and to start the conversation. So it's incredibly humbling to be included in this show that brings together Hudson artists who are willing to stand up and be counted

Join us, we all need your support

Opening: Saturday, August 31 at 7:00 pm

This exhibition in the TSL Gallery deals with issues of racism, environmental, economic inequality, access to health care, LGBTQ and women’s rights, gender equality, voter suppression, political and economic issues, dark money and political corruption, MAGA,The Wall / ICE, Dog whistling, police violence, and more

ABOUT THE PRINTS
One of the Images is from my ongoing project 'The Hudson Portrait Pop-Up' which is documenting Hudson through portraiture. (Instagram ) The other is from an environmental project titled ‘Song of Silence, Song of Grace.’ The theme of this project is an exploration of the degradation of our natural habitat and the cost we and future generations will pay.

Although It's been nearly 20 years since the Notorious B.I.G was murdered his flame has never been extinguished, his heart still beats strong. His music and message loved by each new generation, his influence breathing new life into rap and hip hop music. He is an enduring legend.

I was lucky enough to have met and photographed Biggie in the summer of '94, a few months before the release of his first album ‘Ready to Die.’ It was just me and Biggie walking and taking pictures on the streets of his beloved Brooklyn; no body guards, no hangers on, no entourage. A unique moment in time.

Most of the pictures I took that day have never been seen by the public. But that’s another story and you can read all about it in the many links below. The pictures will be exhibited soon! I'm working on it, I promise, but for the moment I’m releasing a limited edition Biggie Smalls hoodies featuring one of the images.

This Kickstarter edition of 100 signed and numbered hoodies will come with a letter of authenticity. The sale of this merchandise will help fund the scanning of the original negatives and the longer term goal of exhibiting the pictures.
