A quick note about the photos: The Glasshouse is still in her fall era right now 😂🍂, so these images are AI mockups to give you an idea of what each set will look like. The actual sets will be very similar, with my own little touches and décor and I’ll be sharing photos of the REAL setups in just a couple of weeks!

Sometimes when I’m working through galleries, I’m reminded of why this matters so much to me.

Too many times, yes… I have been the last person to take professional images of somebody’s loved one.

A parent. A grandparent. A sibling. A spouse. A son or daughter.

Someone who was deeply, deeply loved.

And I think, in a strange way, it comes from the same part of me that was drawn to healthcare.

They seem like two completely different worlds, but to me, they really aren’t.

Both have allowed me into people’s lives in incredibly human moments. Both require empathy. Patience. Compassion. The ability to read a room, make someone feel comfortable, and understand that you never really know what someone is carrying with them.

Working in healthcare has also given me a very real understanding of how temporary all of this is.

Someday, the harsh reality is that the people we love won’t be here.

And when that day comes, the things that matter most won’t be the perfectly decorated house, the clothes we bought, or most of the material things we spent our lives collecting.

It will be the way someone made us feel.

Their laugh. Their smile. The way their hands looked. The way Dad held Mom. The way your toddler fit perfectly against your chest. The little gap in your child’s teeth. The curls they eventually grew out of. The way your family looked when everyone was simply together.

And photographs.

Kids grow up whether we’re ready for it or not. There are no redos. We don’t get to go back and hold our babies at two again or see our ten year old exactly as they were in that season.

But photographs give us something pretty incredible.

They let us go back.

Not literally, of course. But close enough to remember details our brains eventually lose.

That’s why I will never see photography as just pictures.

When you stand in front of my camera, I know you might be thinking about whether your hair looks okay, whether your kids are cooperating, or whether you should have picked a different outfit.

I’m thinking about what you’re going to want to remember someday.

I’m thinking about your children looking through these photographs years from now.

I’m thinking about creating proof that you were there, too.

That you loved them.

That you laughed with them.

That you held them.

That you existed in this chapter of their story instead of always being the person behind the camera.

Maybe that’s where healthcare and photography overlap for me the most.

Both have taught me that people matter.

Their stories matter.

How we make people feel matters.

And this life moves unbelievably fast.

So I don’t just want to take pretty pictures.

I want to preserve pieces of people’s lives.

Because someday, these ordinary moments won’t feel ordinary at all. 🤎

Today, I’m just feeling really, really grateful.

I watched my first access list grow to 19 people in less than 24 hours. That might seem small to some, but that’s huge to me. I came across my post that someone had shared, and underneath it someone had commented, “she’s amazing.” I thought about the families who come back to me year after year, trusting me with another season of their lives.

And it kind of hit me how far this has all come.

I started taking pictures because I wanted pretty pictures of my own kids. That was it. I never had some big plan to become a photographer or build a business.

Then life changed in a way I never expected. My ex-husband had an affair, he lost his job, and suddenly I needed to figure out a way to help support my family.

So I picked up my camera.

Little by little, something that started in one of the hardest seasons of my life became something I genuinely love. I’m still so thankful for the families who trusted me first. They had no idea the hard season I was in.

And now it feels a little full circle. What started in survival mode became part of the life I was trying so hard to build. Now I’m remarried, raising this big beautiful family, and I have a business that allows me to work, be creative, and still be present for my kids.

But none of that happens without you.

Every person who books me. Every client who comes back. Every recommendation, share, tag, and kind comment. Every family who trusts me with babies, milestones, chaos, growing kids, and memories they can never get back.

You guys have built this right alongside me.

So today, just a really big thank you. 🤎

I will never take for granted that I get to do this because you continue choosing me.

Christmas at The Golden Glasshouse is going to be a whole experience this year. 🎄✨ I've been doing some major planning behind the scenes and I am so excited about it!

This is not going to be your average “show up, smile, take a few pictures, leave.”

I’m planning:
✨ Two completely different Christmas setups to choose from
☕ A hot cocoa bar
🎅 A "lost" Santa button for a little extra Christmas magic for families with kids.
✉️ A mailbox for kids to drop off letters to Santa. Each child will receive a response from Santa in the mail!
📸 A Polaroid ornament keepsake
❄️ Snow falling outside on the porch
🎄 All the cozy Christmas magic inside The Golden Glasshouse (climate controlled)
🤎 And, of course, tons of fun for photos that actually feel like your family.

These sessions will be released September 27, but my First Access List will get the chance to book before they open to everyone else.

I’m just going to say it…

The Golden Glasshouse is a photographer’s dream. 😏🤎

Beautiful natural light, climate control, a covered porch, outdoor shooting space, and a setup that lets me shoot inside and out throughout the day without constantly fighting the sun.

None of it was accidental.

Okay… some of it was. 😂 And some of it was me changing things halfway through and asking my husband, “Wait… can we do THIS instead?”

But the end result? Exactly what I wanted.

A space that’s beautiful, versatile, comfortable, and gives us SO many different looks without ever leaving the property.

And yeah… I’m proud of it! 🤎

My calendar has been getting fuller (which I am SO grateful for 🥹), so I decided to open up something new:

Wednesdays at The Golden Glasshouse. ✨

A smaller session option available exclusively on Wednesdays:

These aren’t themed sessions and you don’t need a special reason to book one. Family, maternity, motherhood, couples, babies, milestones… or just because you realized it’s been way too long since you’ve had photos you love. 🤎

Every once in a while, I look around and realize I’m living in a chapter of my life that an older version of me would hardly recognize. 🤎

Life has looked a lot different than this before. There were seasons when I was just trying to figure out what came next, and I definitely couldn’t have pictured myself standing here.

I have an incredible husband beside me who believes in me and every crazy idea I have. The Golden Glasshouse might be the greatest example of that.

It started as an idea in my head, but he built it with his own two hands.

Board by board. Window by window. Through every “wait… what if we did THIS?” 😂 He took this crazy dream of mine and turned it into a real place where I get to create.

I have our babies, a home I love, a camera in my hands, a business I’ve poured so much of myself into, and this beautiful little Glasshouse sitting right outside my door.

And there is still so much I want to do.

I’m still growing. Still building. Still dreaming bigger.

But I think sometimes we get so focused on where we’re going that we forget to look back at where we started.

And looking at these pictures made me do that.

I’m really, really grateful to be here. 🤎
