The past 30 days on a cruise through Greenland, Iceland, Scotland, Ireland and the UK have been fabulous because of the friendly people whom I met, glorious sites we have seen and a month long respite from the screaming rhetoric, polarizing politics and violence that is the mainstay, every single day, in America. Not seeing or hearing the Trump word except while playing bridge has been a priceless gift. TYVM! Coming home to news of so many mass shootings, violence and death of innocent children and bystanders while I’ve been gone; 300+ shootings in the country so far this year. Does anybody care to notice that America has a gun problem and nobody is doing a damn thing to address it? This is not a political POV statement. It is the reality of living in the USA Today and that is unacceptable to me. Getting out of the country for a decent amount of time brings the reality of living here into sharp focus. “If you see something, say something” so I’m taking that to heart. If people don’t say or do anything, this will be - if it’s not already - the acceptable status quo of American life. Is that OK with you? Rambling political responses here will be deleted. This is a fair and honest question. Your thoughts … ?
