First newborn session in awhile and first girl newborn in YEARS. I adore this sweet family and it was fun getting to add a little pink in to their photos. I might have realized that I had no battery power and no battery charger a half hour before the session started, but PSA for all photographers that might find yourself in a similar situation, Best Buy has a universal battery charger for only $50 and it literally saved the day.
With that being said, I have to give a giant shoutout to every client that I have worked with this year for being so patient and kind to me. Trying to start my business up again after my son’s cancer fight turned out to be a lot harder on me than I had anticipated. I’m trying to find myself again after experiencing trauma and I get overwhelmed very easily. My healing is a work in progress. But I appreciate every person who has been so kind to me as I try to get back into the swing of the things. And for anyone who has reached out and hasn’t heard back I am also so sorry! I’m working hard to get things organized so that I am not so easily overwhelmed when people reach out. Thanks for sticking around and I hope to make 2024 a great year for my business.

This darling couple ties the knot in less than 2 weeks and I cannot get over how amazing their formal session was last week. I admit I was pretty anxious on the way to this session because it’s been over 2 years since I have shot a wedding for a client. I might have wobbled on a rock and fell onto the bride but I’m happy to report that neither of us fell into the lake and we were able to get some amazing images from it. 😂 can’t wait for the wedding day!!

A very long overdue post. I know that this page has been dormant for a couple years with no real explanation. I am so sorry to those who have messaged, texted or emailed me and have not had a response. Here is my reason right here. This is my sweet son Hayes. In early 2021 at 17 months old he was diagnosed with juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia (JMML) which is a very rare blood cancer found in only young children. Our lives were completely turned upside down. JMML is diagnosed in 1 in a million kids in the US each year. It currently has a 50% survival rate. The only known cure is through bone marrow transplant. He began treatment in February 2021 and underwent 3 inpatient rounds of heavy duty chemo and received a bone marrow transplant from my then 10-year-old daughter on May 10, 2021. This was a very hard time for our family as only my husband and I were able to be with him in the hospital so our family was apart more between January and June than we were together. We received so much love and support and I will never be able to thank everyone personally for it. Thank you so much to some of my amazing clients who found out and sent love, prayers, encouragement and contributed to fundraisers. I rarely had it in me to respond to messages or to express that gratitude when I would see your names on sign ups or venmo but please know that I saw it and it meant so much to me. It’s been a very long recovery for Hayes and our family, both physically and emotionally. I am happy and grateful to report that Hayes is currently almost 2 years in remission and a happy, thriving, busy and healthy 3.5 year-old that keeps us on our toes constantly. Be sure to swipe to the last couple pictures to see him now. And as for me and my photography, it has been a process of baby steps trying to get it back up and swinging. I shot 6 sessions at the end of 2021, 15 sessions in 2022 and finally feel like I am in a good enough mental place to fully get back in the game. One of the harder things I dealt with over the cancer diagnosis was the fear that I would lose this business I had been building for 10 years. I know it isn’t going to come back overnight, but thanks so much for sticking around. I’m excited for the future of my little business and I can’t wait to show you some of the amazing shoots I have done over the last 2 years. Stay tuned!

This beautiful mama has been so patient with me with getting her pictures to her. The last couple of weeks have been really hard and busy for me and she has given me so much grace. This sweet boy and his amazing mom and dad could use all the prayers and good vibes set his way. A few weeks ago he underwent his 3rd open heart surgery since birth and though it was successful he has been dealing with lots of complications with air accumulating in his chest and is having to go in for another procedure to fix that and it’s going to be very painful for him. Ty is the most darling, happy boy and he lights up every room he enters. To know him is to love him and there is no denying that he is a very special kid that is here to bring light into the dark world we are facing. It just breaks my heart that he has had to go through so much in his short life. He has two sisters at home that adore him and I’m sure they are so ready to have him home and the family all together again. I I love this family so much and they have all my prayers that this procedure will work, his recovery will be quick and they can all be home together as a family very soon. ❤️❤️❤️

I’M BACK!!!! It’s been awhile since I’ve posted again. The last few months have been insane around here, as I’m sure it has been for every single one of you. Trying to adjust to all the new responsibilities with homeschooling and having 4 young kids home all day every day was very overwhelming for me and I just couldn’t take on extra things. So I pretty much took a nice long break from social media. But the good news is that I have still been shooting sessions and I have so many good things to share. I also have to brag that I have the best clients ever. Every client I have shot for in this crazy time has been so patient and understanding with me. Trying to run a business while being a full time mom is tough, but running a business while being a full time mom during quarantine definitely proved to be a whole new level of crazy. I’m lucky to get 15 minutes in one day to edit, and if it’s a consecutive 15 minutes that’s like striking gold. Anyways, I’m not complaining cuz I know my family has been so blessed and that so many have been so negatively effected over the last few months. But I just want to give a huge thank you to all my amazing clients for your support and patience with me. I’m so excited to share all the things I’ve been up to.

I wasn’t planning on doing more mini sessions this years but I just found out that my favorite tree farm that I thought was closed is open and available for pictures so I’ve decided to do a mini session there this Saturday afternoon.

Images guaranteed to be delivered within 1 week or less so there will be plenty of time to use them for Christmas cards or as gifts. DM to book. I broke my laptop screen earlier this week when I shut my laptop without realizing there was a memory card sitting on the keyboard. 🤦🏼‍♀️😭😡 and of course my desktop has been having issues so the laptop has been my main gateway for editing the last several months. Well I am happy to report that I have been able to fix the issues on my desktop and I am back to editing pictures of one of my all time favorite families to photograph! So happy that they came up my way so that I could capture them again.

Say hello to my newest little love, Hayes Douglas Isaac. My sweet boy is 6 weeks old today. I’ve been enjoying baby snuggles and haven’t made it on my instagram, but I am back working and taking pictures.
