Sometimes volleyball can feel like a sacrifice I make in other areas of my life, even more so when you are an adult getting into a brand new sport. The further I go with it the more I ask myself why I’m even doing it. There’s no conventionally successful outcome that comes as a result of playing it, especially if you aren’t pro.
I overheard someone at a coffee shop talking about what they would do if it were their last day on earth, and what activities they would get up to outside of the obvious things like family, friends, etc. I thought about it for a moment and admitted to myself, after all of those obvious things, I’d probably text some friends in the afternoon to play some volleyball until the sun set and we had to pack things up, and there was my answer for why I play. :)
