It’s International Overdose Awareness Day😌
I have two people close to me who died of an overdose. My childhood best friend, Elizabeth, and my sister, Kristin.
Both women left us way too soon but are in a much better place.
A tribute for Kristin:
Your example showed me what not to do most of the time. You always knew how to laugh at your own mistakes. I envied that about you, I am always so serious. You lived life to the fullest everyday. You were blessed with a beautiful mind, body and spirit. Life dealt you a lousy hand being born with mental illness and an addictive personality. You were afflicted by poverty, abuse, disease, and homelessness. You also were blessed in so many ways, including your son and daughter, who will be your legacy. You made choices, good ones and bad ones. Unfortunately the bad ones took hold and no matter how you tried, you couldn’t kick your habit. That habit led to an early grave. I know you knew Jesus before overdosing, so I won’t say goodbye. I say “I love you, see ya soon!”
My heart felt sympathies go out to everyone else effected by this 🫶
