Years ago, I met a very sweet young artist named Tim Jaeger who had a vision—to start an artist group. I helped out for a bit for what became S|ART|Q.
I recently joined S|ART|Q, a wonderful group of artists collaborating with the Florida Gulf Coast AIA on a fundraiser for the Boys & Girls Club. The event is called "Reflections", and each artist will create a piece that incorporates a mirror.
Here’s my submission—can you spot the mirror?
“Luminous Node Reverie”
Glass cabochons laminated onto architectural print glass, overlaid onto shattered mirror—forming a suspended field of light, fracture, and quiet reflection.
It’s a one-of-a-kind piece, and you’ll be able to see (and bid on!) it—along with many other incredible works—at the event on April 25th. (mark your calendar)

The final finishes on the serenity sculpture. Tomeo is complete, I get to enjoy it in my studio for a few days before we install it next week.

The fabrication of TOMEO is completed and ready for the final finishes. The style of sculpture I design requires a high level of welding skill. I am fortunate to have Jay Dittmann available to work with me on these projects. I will discuss my process and tools during the Open Studio tomorrow, between 11 AM and 3 PM at 2225 Sixth St. Bring your appetite to try out the tasty offerings from Martin’s Southern Mediterranean Smokehouse.

Kelly Franklin and her husband Ron Kahden commissioned me to make "Tomeo" for their fabulous historical house garden. We are in the final stages, and guests will view it at the open studio, this Saturday, with a sun medallion added.

Virginia will be showing a small piece in the inaugural exhibition of the new 502 Gallery.

On August 5th, the 502 Gallery will be open from 11am to 7pm, inviting guests to join us throughout the day. The peak hours are expected to be from 5pm to 7pm. Additionally, we will have a food truck and bartender available in the adjacent parking lot from 4pm to 7pm.”

502 Gallery in the Burns Court district will display and sell art work in various styles that are no more than 6 inches by 6 inches in size.

10 X 10 continues: This project is in a Tim Siebert building. I was hired to modernize the entry, carrying the theme of my sculpture to door handles and railings. It freshened up the place. Tim Seibert never complained. These are stainless steel, and we laminated the glass onto the structure on site. It could have been more sketchy; you did not see large-scale glass sculptures back then. Doing large sculptures with glass like this in 1994 was unheard of. Today the envelope of pushing large-scale glass sculpture has reached a new and colossal threshold. Hell, we may even get one in a roundabout soon.
