WHEN SHOULD YOU BOOK YOUR SENIOR'S PHOTO SESSION? Let me answer that once and for all.
I get this question every single year, and honestly? The answer is almost always "sooner than you think."
Here's the truth: JUNE IS THE SWEET SPOT β and here's why:
ποΈ Schedules are wide open. School just ended. Your senior isn't buried in homework, hasn't picked up fall work hours yet, and fall sports haven't started. Right now is genuinely the easiest time to find a date that works for everyone.
πΏ Michigan is gorgeous in June. Lush greenery, wildflowers, golden evening light that lasts until 9pm. The landscape looks completely different in June than it does in August β in the best possible way.
βοΈ The weather is perfect for outdoor sessions. Warm but not August-sweltering. Morning sessions are cool and comfortable. Nobody's melting in their outfit.
π Open houses happen fast. If your senior is having an open house next spring, you'll want finished, printed, framed photos ready β not a rushed order in April. Booking in June means zero stress.
π Holiday cards & announcements take time. Senior photos β ordering β printing β mailing takes longer than most families expect. June sessions give you plenty of runway.
πΈ Fall fills up FAST. Every photographer's calendar gets slammed in September and October. If you wait, you're competing for the last few spots β or worse, settling for a date that doesn't work for your family.
The seniors who have the most relaxed, fun, "best" sessions are almost always the ones who booked early β before the pressure of senior year even started.
I currently have 6 OPENINGS LEFT IN JUNE Once they're gone, we're into fall territory.
