If you love the look of film, you may be surprised to learn that many homes simply don't have enough natural light to shoot medium format film throughout the house. Without additional light, we'd often be limited to photographing right next to a window.

Over the years, I've refined a way of supplementing natural light that feels seamless and true to the scene—no trendy direct flash, no harsh shadows, and no "flashy" look. Just soft, natural-looking light that allows us to photograph in the rooms you love most.

That means we can incorporate the character of your home—the nursery, the living room, the artwork you've chosen, the spaces where your family's story is unfolding—while still creating the luminous, film-inspired images you see throughout my work.

Because your home is part of your family's history, too.

The little red outfit you see there isn't just an outfit—it was worn by this little boy's father in his own portraits years ago and carefully saved to be passed down to the next generation.

One of my favorite things about these sessions is finding meaningful ways to incorporate family heirlooms and traditions. Whether it's a special outfit, a treasured toy, a family quilt, or something else entirely, I love working with families to create photographs that feel personal to them and preserve the details that matter most.

The Heirloom Lifestyle Add-On is a beautiful complement to the classic heirloom portrait. While the traditional portrait creates a timeless keepsake, these images capture the rest of the story—the little hands, the dimpled knees, the movement, the personality, and all the details you'll want to remember years from now.

What you wear matters so much in a maternity session because it helps shape the entire feel of your photographs.
For this session, we intentionally built two looks around the vision she had. We started with a soft, romantic floral dress from the client wardrobe (which she’ll also wear for her newborn session for beautiful continuity across her images 🤍).

Then we shifted into something more modern - relaxed denim and an oversized white shirt styled open to highlight her bump in a simple, effortless way. A little more contemporary, still timeless.

We both loved how these came together. Different looks, same story beautifully told.
