It’s the first opportunity your guests have to settle in, grab a drink, reconnect with friends and family, and really begin enjoying the celebration you’ve spent so much time planning.

A few things that can make it even better? Plenty of comfortable seating, passed hors d’oeuvres, a beautiful bar setup, signature cocktails, and thoughtful details that make the experience feel uniquely yours.

And from a photography perspective, cocktail hour is full of the candid moments that help tell the whole story of your wedding. Your favorite people laughing together, the details you carefully chose, and all those little interactions happening while you’re enjoying newlywed portraits.

Beach engagement sessions are less about perfectly posed portraits and more about movement, connection, and letting the setting do a little of the work for you. 🤍

My biggest tip? Embrace the wind, kick off your shoes, and don’t be afraid to get a little wet. The more you allow yourself to simply enjoy the experience together, the more natural your photographs will feel.
