One of my favorite things about this job is that time tells a story.

I photographed this sweet family on the beach last year — and this year mom wanted something a little different, so we traded the sand for something equally special. Eden Gardens State Park, with its moss-draped oaks and stunning 1897 mansion, never disappoints.

Last year the twins were just finding their footing — this year they owned the whole place. And through it all, mom, dad, and their big sister showed up with so much love for each other that my job was easy.

We're lucky to be in an area known for some of the most beautiful beaches in the world — but every now and then I relish the opportunity to explore the other gems this area has to offer. 🌿 If you've been thinking about a session somewhere a little different, this is your sign.

Sometimes the best moments are the ones you don’t plan for.

Here’s a sneak peek from a recent sunset photo session — a kiss between two people completely wrapped up in each other… and a little guy who wasn’t about to be left out, quietly stealing the spotlight with his angelic face! 😇

I love how this photo captures the beautiful reality of family life. If you’re a parent of a young kid, you know how rare these little moments alone can be, but before long, they’ll be off doing their own thing and won’t want to jump in the frame anymore. Soak it all in while you can.

I did get shots without this little sweetie too, but honestly, this one with their little guy might just be my favorite. I’d love to know which photo you prefer — this playful family moment or the classic couple shot I’m sharing in the comments!

Some stories don’t end after one session. Last summer, I met Caitlin and her family - Peter, little Collin, and her mom - just after their beach elopement. They hadn’t taken any photos at the ceremony, so this session became their way of holding onto that moment. Everything felt easy and genuine, and I was so glad to help them preserve that feeling through photos.

So when Caitlin reached out again this year, wanting to do a maternity and family session while they were back at the same beach, it meant a lot. There’s something really special about being asked to document another chapter of their lives. It tells me the photos mattered...that the experience stayed with them.

We’re already joking about next year’s session - same beach, a new little one in their arms...the sweetest full-circle moment.

This is the part of the job I hold closest - getting to watch stories unfold and helping families remember them, one season at a time.

I already shared sneak peeks a few days ago from this beautiful surprise proposal here in Panama City Beach, but I’m thrilled to share a few more shots from this beautiful session that capture their joy and story.

The idea was to make it look like a family sunset session, which I helped plan so Hannah wouldn’t suspect a thing. Their beautiful family, including Hannah’s little boy and their sweet baby girl (who I may have instantly fallen in love with), made the evening feel extra special.

When the time was right, we shifted into some couple shots... and then Neel proposed. That moment - real, emotional, and filled with love -is the kind I feel so lucky to help create and preserve. It’s these memories, full of laughter, tenderness, and connection, that stay with us long after the day ends.

Let’s hear it for the dads.

The ones who don’t usually book the photo session (we know who makes that happen 😉) - but who show up ready to toss kids in the air, give shoulder rides, swing little hands, and carry all the things.

And even if smiling for the camera isn’t exactly how they’d choose to spend an hour in Panama City Beach… somewhere between the chasing, the wrestling, dad jokes and the belly laughs - they forget the camera’s even there. They just get caught up in being dad.

You’re the laugh-makers, the strong shoulders, the ones who turn a simple hour on the beach into memories your family will hang onto long after the sand has washed away.

And one day, when your kids look back at these photos, they’ll remember how it felt to be wrapped up in your arms, to ride on your shoulders, to laugh until their belly hurt. These pictures will hold more than just smiles… they’ll hold the joy of being theirs.

Happy Father’s Day to the ones who make life a little louder, a little wilder, and a lot more wonderful.

Some moments just stay with you - and last night was definitely one of them. Neel and Hannah drove down from Mississippi with the family for a beach getaway here in Panama City Beach, and Neel had the sweetest surprise planned...a proposal by the water.

It’s always such an honor to be part of moments like these - what’s often one of the happiest, most unforgettable days in a person’s life. I think I was more nervous than Neel, wanting every detail to be perfect...but he was calm and steady, ready to ask the biggest question of all.

These are just a few sneak peeks for the happy couple as I work on their full gallery, but I couldn’t resist sharing a little glimpse of the joy, love, and excitement from this beautiful evening.

Hannah said "yes," and I couldn’t be happier for these two as they start this sweet new chapter together. Wishing you both a lifetime filled with love, laughter, and moments as joyful as this one. 💍✨

Military families move often and cross paths with countless people - but maintaining those connections over time is what makes some bonds truly meaningful.

So when this wonderful young man and his family traveled over two hours each way to have his senior portraits taken here in Panama City, it was more than just a photo session...it was a special reunion and a true honor. After a few moves and new chapters for both our families, it feels extra special to end up together here in Florida for this milestone moment.

I’ve watched Jackson grow up - from the sweet, bright kid we met at one of our military stations to the thoughtful, respectful, and handsome gentleman he is today. For his photos, he wanted an urban vibe, and downtown Panama City provided the perfect backdrop.

Jackson and his family (Kathy Brookhiser) have every reason to be proud , and I’m truly grateful to have been part of this milestone. Congratulations! 🎓🌟👏❤️ I can’t wait to see all the incredible things your future holds.
