I wanted to share this image of the 15-time Grand Prix champion Giacomo Agostini that I photographed this past summer in Bergamo, Italy. It is the final image from 2023 that I have shot while working on my long-term multi-media portrait series called https://lnkd.in/eukeE-bw For this series, I use my motorcycle as a mobile photo studio. I have traveled more than 50,000 miles on the bike. The United States, Canada, the UK, and much of Europe as well as a few from India (didn't use my bike there) have helped me to photograph 144 people.

This is by far the most complete portrait series featuring individuals whose lives are deeply connected to motorcycles. Including racers, builders, collectors, and world travelers. Men, women, black, white, straight, gay, and every variation thereof to show the inclusiveness of motorcycling.

Each image also has an audio recording and GPS info of the location of the image.

I'd love to see this series continue, if you think you know someone who might be interested in helping to see it grow, please reach out.

Thanks.

david

For a few years now I’ve been using my bike as a mobile photo studio to meet and photograph some of the most inspiring people whose lives are deeply connected to motorcycles. That is actually how I describe this series. But this past week for the first time someone came to me. I had been following for a few years and honestly just in awe of her adventure. Who was this woman I often wondered? This Eastern European with an Australian accent. Kinga rolled into my small shtetl of a village in Nova Scotia after having one of her worst experiences as an overlander(getting her gear stolen in New Brunswick) As a Canadian I was super bummed to learn it happened in Canada but oh well, these things can happen anywhere. If you have met me you know, I can talk and if you have met Kinga you know the same, so imagine two motorcycle travel nerds who spent two days talking like whoever used the least oxygen would lose. I loved hearing about her life on the road and the joys as well as challenges. She is incredibly generous and fun to hang out with. She is not afraid to tell it like it is. Listen to the audio interview on the website and hear for yourself. https://themotorcyleportraits.com/subject/kinga-tanajewska/
