Thanks to all who've liked my page. It's been about my book, Executive Order, up until now. So I'd like to try something different and share a Flickr album I've created based on my recent trip to Italia. There's a narrative, so when you link to the thumbnails, please be sure to click on the first picture and scroll down to see caption and description below. This was a very special journey, and it's given me ideas for a new book of my collected works from the past decade. So enjoy!

Hard to believe my book was published one year ago! And it still continues to garner lots of press and new interest.

So wanted to share a bit of the continuing success story...

Next week the current issue (no. 133, June 2019) of Black & White will hit the newsstands (primarily in SoCal) and it contains a wonderful feature on Executive Order. Here is a link to a digest of the magazine (I'm hoping the actual magazine website will include the feature in a week or so too):

https://issuu.com/bandwmag/docs/june_2019_black___white

The layout in the print magazine is much nicer, but the above link does get you the whole article written by Larry Lytle, starting on page 31 in the "issu" excerpt.

From the editor: "The June 2019 issue of Black & White magazine goes on sale April 10, and once again presents the best contemporary and classic photography in print form. Our features include Susan Ressler’s incisive series documenting U.S. corporate offices and lobbies in the 1970s; Graciela Iturbide’s surrealist visions; Karin Rosenthal’s enigmatic, near-abstract nudes; Stanley Kubrick’s pre-film-directing career as a Look magazine photographer; Adam Panczuk’s subjective documentation of rural Polish villages; and a look at four contemporary artists forging fine art paths..."

There will also be an interview published in "Autre Magazine," both print and digital based in LA. It should come out sometime this April at autre.love.

An Australian magazine called Smith Journal wants to do an interview, and a leading Spanish design magazine, Yorokobu, will be publishing a feature as well.

Finally, LACMA (LA County Museum of Art) bought five gelatin silver prints for their permanent collection in January.

Will have more updates soon!

FEATURES: Phoneography: Shaping the Future of Photography / Graciela Iturbide: Between Dreams and Realities / Susan Ressler Explores the Executive Order / Karin Rosenthal: Ambiguous Figures / Adam Panczuk: Salvage Ethnography / Stanley Kubrick: Through a Different Lens SPOTLIGHTS: Jake Lambroza / Gw...

As of this writing, there are about two weeks left to catch this show before it closes. This photo was taken of me at the opening reception in September. Thanks for looking!

Some exciting news: I'll be having a solo show of my Israel work in Houston during September -- October. Just before you enter the gallery, a large banner and introduction to the show, titled "Encountering Israel," will greet viewers. The banner was just printed and it's on canvas, and 5.5 feet across! Here it is, hot off the press in Steve Zeifman's studio, Rush Creek Editions, Santa Fe!
