It's been a while since I have posted, but was in the mood to edit tonight. From 2023 in Kanab, Utah at the Great Chambers. A pain in the arse getting up there with gear, but the reward was worth it around 3 am. :)

I have several photo projects going on at the moment, a big product commercial shoot and a concert to edit and get out... But I had to take a moment and get these two images out! It's Milky Way season once again. The first one, a private stream that runs along the backside of Westover Farms, a flyfishing resort in Steelville, MO, and was taken just before dawn. The second image is looking toward the fly shop and down the raceway where the young trout are raised. This was taken just as the sun was rising and before the Milky Way was washed away by sunlight. This weekend brings another new moon phase and the possibility of more Milky Way goodness to come, that is if the weather cooperates! I promise to keep appropriate social distance this weekend. Wash your hands, and stay safe and healthy my friends. :)

This image went out in the mail today as a Thank You! The story: I was photographing out in New Mexico this past summer and had plans for photographing a particular cemetery. While waiting out a storm to pass thru I stopped at a small bar in the middle of nowhere. I got talking to the owners of the bar, a super nice couple, who shared some stories of the area and about the cemetery. The storm wasn't letting up and when it was closing time at the bar, and the owners found out I was camping that night, they offered up their cabin for me to stay in. They happen to own 300+ acres nearby in some really nice dark sky area. A couple of hours later the sky cleared and I was able to capture this...., their cabin. I didn't get to photograph that cemetery but plan to do so this coming spring or summer on my return visit. I have met some of the nicest people in New Mexico.

Last week I visited an incredible place with a couple of photographers... Within an hour of landing in the Faroe Islands, we were at Gásadalur, on the island of Vágar in the Faroe Islands. Here we were introduced to the temperamental weather the islands are known for. One minute it was raining with winds blowing so hard the waterfalls were blowing upwards and the next minute rays of sunlight were speckling the countryside.
