Photography is an unpredictable art. No matter how long I’ve been doing this and how confident I am in my work, I find myself with a healthy balance of excitement and nerves before any session.
That balance is what keeps me grounded and humble. But I’m not the only one who feels that way. It’s very common to have pre-session jitters. Being in front of the camera can sometimes feel a little awkward if you’re not used to it.
My job as a photographer is to help ease your nerves. I always tell my clients the first 10 minutes of shooting is our “warm-up session”. It’s a time to get comfortable with each other and the camera. Everything after that is gold!
Just ask Ayan and Shinjini who were not only first time clients of mine, but first time clients for any professional photographer. And look how comfortable and gorgeous they are!
