Last Saturday we headed over to Woodhouse Blends and Brews for a super fun night of friends and music. This “Thank You Sly Stone” tribute band that includes a few of my favorite buds in music was so great.

I’ve been a huge fan of Sly and the Family Stone since I was a teen and this crew DEFINITELY captured the magic. I hope I get to see more of this!

Huge thank you to the musicians that made the night so special and Andrew Myers of No Brainer Productions for pulling it all together.

I know some of these are potentially redundant, but they sure didn’t feel that way in the moment. This was an INCREDIBLY difficult day to photograph whales. The swells on the bay were HUGE. It was really hard to anchor myself well enough to stay still and get shots but I’m really happy with how a bunch of these turned out. No breaches this day but there sure were a lot of fluke throws.

My whale photography is getting better.

The Good Luck Thrift Store Outfit announced on Friday that they would be hosting the Good Luck Campout again in 2026 at Three Links Camp up in MiWuk, CA.

I'm ecstatic. I think that that was my favorite weekend of 2025 and I HOPED that they would decide to give it another go this year. In honor of that momentous decision to hold an event that will help us all stay sane this coming year and give us a weekend to look forward to, I offer up my images from last year.

I've had these done for months but time got away from me because of work and I got embarrassed that so much time had gone by and felt weird about putting them out there. BUT, because of Friday's announcement, I feel like they’re in need of a dust off and now give us something to remember and help to build a little excitement about what is to come.

Here's a few from the China Cats NYE show at the Vets Hall in Santa Cruz. I sure love this band. No gimmicks just good ol' Grateful Dead played from the soul to a dedicated crowd. What a lovely night!
