Went to shoot the MilkyWay last week at Lassen Volcanic National park. The moon was in Waning Gibbous stage that day and there was just a 2 to 2.5 hr gap between the sunset and the moonrise to get my milkyway shots.
It was a serene experience to watch the colors change over the Lassen peak as the sun went down & the Milkyway gradually peaked
against the back drop of the beautiful Manzenita lake & Lassen peak.

Here's some pictures of the lake starting from the blue hour followed by the golden hour and then the Milkyway.
