Local legend Pat Koch was honored Sunday at The Chateau on the occasion of her 95th birthday! The place was packed and Mrs. Koch happily greeted each visitor as they came to wish her a happy birthday.

On Saturday, the Santa Claus Park & Recreation Department put on Spring Flings & Easter Things at Yellig Park, which included egg dying and an Easter egg hunt. The rain didn't keep people away and everyone had a great time!

St. John Chrysostom Catholic Church in New Boston, Indiana, was founded in 1859 by Rev. John Chrysostom Foffa, O.S.B., a Benedictine monk from the nearby Saint Meinrad Archabbey who established the parish to serve the growing community of German immigrants. For over 160 years, the parish functioned as a vital spiritual hub in rural Spencer County, characterized by its historic "country gothic" architecture and its deep ties to the Benedictine missionary tradition. However, due to a declining local population and significant structural issues—including severe mold damage—the church was officially merged into St. Martin I Parish and eventually relegated from sacred use by the Diocese of Evansville in 2021. While the building was slated for sale and closure in 2022, its legacy remains preserved through its cemetery and its long-standing history as a cornerstone of the Southern Indiana Catholic landscape.

The Huffman Mill Covered Bridge is a historic Burr Arch truss covered bridge built in 1864–1865 across the Anderson River on the Spencer–Perry County line in southern Indiana. Constructed of yellow poplar, it is approximately 148 feet long. Named for a nearby 19th-century mill owned by settler George Huffman, it was closed to vehicular traffic around 2004 and is now open only to pedestrians. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
