I’ve had so many people reach out with questions about Fresh 48 sessions, so I wanted to dedicate a post to help answer everything in one place! Sooo let’s talk about them!
A Fresh 48 session is a type of newborn session that takes place in the hospital, typically within the first 24–48 hours (even long if baby needs a few extra days) after your baby is born. I usually recommend scheduling it the day after baby makes their arrival! This gives mama some time to rest and recover after delivery and allows for sweet bonding time before photos ever feel like a distraction.
Yes, siblings are always included 🤍 Whether it’s capturing that very first meeting with their new baby brother or sister or documenting your whole family soaking in those fresh baby snuggles the following day! Either way I would love for them to be included!
One of the most common questions I get is: How do I book if I don’t know when baby will be born?
Great question! If hospital photos are important to you, I recommend reaching out sooner rather than later. Once booked, I’ll place your due date on my calendar as a tentative hold. From there, I’ll have you keep me updated when you go into labor and once baby arrives, and we’ll choose a session time that works best for you and your family for me to swing by your postpartum room!
Fresh 48 sessions are very minimal in posing (I definitely will direct you don’t you worry 😉) and focused on storytelling featuring the tiny details, sweet announcement photos and quiet hospital moments!
Lastly, You are more than welcome to bring any special items you’d love included in your photos like name signs, announcement details, outfits, or small mementos that are meaningful to you. I don’t bring anything wraps or baskets to these sessions. If you are really looking for those cute wrapped and posed photos of baby, I’d definitely recommend an in home newborn session instead where I bring everything to you!
If this sounds like something you’d love to document, don’t hesitate to reach out 🤍 These moments are fleeting, and they deserve to be remembered.
