As I see the posts about the women attending Body Image Bootcamp in Mexico this week, I find myself smiling at all the photos. I know the women there will have fabulous stories, and breakthroughs that they will be excited to share.

It's bringing back memories.

Not just of the beautiful place or the incredible women I met when I attended, but of the ways that experience changed me.
For a long time I thought confidence was something you either had or you didn't.
What I have learned is that confidence is built.
It's built when you say yes to something that scares you (Like being an introvert who spontaneously signs up to go to Mexico for a week with strangers).
When you let yourself be seen, challenge old beliefs and sit in uncomfortable - you grow.
The women in these photos were part of that journey for me. Each one showed up with courage, vulnerability, and a willingness to explore their relationship with themselves.

Together, we laughed, cried, learned, stretched, and discovered that body image isn't really about our bodies at all.
It's about the stories we tell ourselves.

Years later, those lessons continue to shape not only who I am as a woman, but also how I serve my clients.

So today, I'm celebrating these incredible women and the impact they've had on my life.

Confidence isn't a personality trait reserved for a lucky few.
It's a relationship you build with yourself—one brave moment at a time.

I rarely check the mail box these days. I remember when I would drive home from work, park, check the mail and get busy with the hustle and bustle of family life. Well I checked the box this week and to my surprise in it was a 10 year PSA ( The Photographic Society of America) membership certificate.

A piece of paper I didn’t expect but one that represents ten years of continuing to learn, create, stretch, explore and be connected to the art of photography.

For me photography has never just been about taking photos. It’s been a way to capture beauty, tell stories, be curious, embrace an art form and show people how I see and experience the world.
I appreciate PSA’s mission to promote photography as communication, creativity, education and cultural exchange. That matters to me because photographs have the power to remind us we are more alike than different. They let us witness beauty, emotion, vulnerability, joy, grief and humanity.

What I love the most after all these years is that I still feel excited when I grab my camera. I am so grateful and thankful for every person who has stepped in front of of my camera, trusted me with their story, encouraged my art work, purchased my fine art and attended receptions and events.

Here’s to continuing to learn, create, and being able to capture the magic tucked into ordinary moments.

Yesterday morning I curled up in my jammies with my frou frou coffee, the voters pamphlet, computer and pen and filled in the dots. This morning I drove over to the box.

She asked if she could wear a mask, smoke a cigar and totally BE someone else for a bit. Mystery rolled up in sensuality, alluring with a touch of daring. So we did….

One of my favorite things about photographing women is seeing how many versions of them show up during a session.

Maybe it’s a soft version, powerful, playful, emotional, or flirty version.

It’s interesting how layered, complex sometimes contradictory women are. You can be nurturing and bold, gentle and strong, professional and deeply creative.
