Contax Aria 📷 Introduced in 1998, the Aria is a compact 35mm SLR with full manual as well as priority modes, a 1/4000 sec top shutter speed, and built-in motor drive.

The Widelux F7 is a vintage 35mm mechanical swing-lens panoramic camera produced by Panon Camera Shoko from 1979 to 1988. Panon produced a total of 8 Widelux models (seven 35mm versions and one 120) between 1958 and 2000.

A factory fire in 2005 destroyed the blueprints ending hope of another iteration.

In 2024 SilverBridges, a partnership between actor Jeff Bridges and Silvergrain, announced their intent to revive the Widelux. They called it the WideluxX F10, and it was released in April 2026.

Canon P 📷 🎞️ Introduced in 1959, the Canon P (short for “Populaire” apparently) is a fully mechanical 35mm rangefinder built around the Leica thread mount (LTM/M39). It features a bright 1:1 viewfinder with 35mm, 50mm, and 100mm frame lines and a focal-plane shutter with 1sec to 1/1000 + bulb. BYOM (bring your own meter 🙃)

Simple, solid, and well built, the Canon P is a favorite among Canon rangefinders, and it’s a great way to put excellent LTM glass to use without breaking the bank on a Leica body.

The Ondu 6x6 Pinhole Camera 🎞️ something a little bit different. Instead of a typical lens, light passes through a tiny aperture, producing nearly infinite depth of field. Exposures on this handmade medium format pinhole camera can range from seconds to hours.

Pinhole photography is part math, part intuition, and a lot of trial and error. At its core, a pinhole camera is simply a lightproof box with a tiny hole- one of the most basic camera designs ever made.

Shoot 35mm film in a medium format Rollei with a Rolleikin adapter 🎞️ When shooting a 75mm lens, the 35mm film adapter makes for a great focal length for portraits.

Installation takes a few steps: install the Rolleikin take-up spool and rewind fittings, snap the film-guide frame into the film gate, set the pressure plate to 24×36mm, and add the focusing-screen mask. On Rolleiflex models that require it, the standard film counter k**b is also replaced with the Rolleikin counter. *please note that Rolleikin adapters aren’t compatible with all Rolleiflex models*

Brooks Veriwide 120 📷 Introduced around 1965 as the successor to the Plaubel-Brooks Veriwide 100 (sound familiar? See previous post 😉), the Brooks Veriwide is an ultra-wide 6×9 medium format camera built around a 47mm Schneider Super-Angulon lens.

Early models used the 47mm f/8 Super-Angulon, while later versions like this one were fitted with the faster 47mm f/5.6.

The Brooks Veriwide produces 8 frames per roll of 120, compared with the 7 larger 6×10 frames of the earlier Plaubel-Brooks Veriwide 100.

The Brooks-Plaubel Veriwide 100 is an unusual piece of panoramic camera history. Introduced in 1959, it was designed in the U.S. and built by Plaubel in Germany.

It shoots 7 panoramic 56×92mm frames (6x10 format) on 120 film, paired with a fixed 47mm f/8 Schneider Super-Angulon covering roughly 100 degrees. The Synchro-Compur leaf shutter runs from 1 sec to 1/500 + B.

A Leitz-built optical viewfinder completes the setup, bringing together Plaubel, Schneider, and Leitz components in one camera.
