One of them started just behind our home and we only had minutes to grab a few things. My instinct was to grab our photos and memorabilia, but I panicked briefly when I realized my most precious memories were all over our home in boxes and picture frames and albums. I grabbed what I could and headed to safety with my family. Thankfully, after many days of worry, it was safe to return to our home a
nd the memories we had to leave behind. I committed then to protect my family’s memories. My printed photos have all been scanned into a digital format and, along with my previously uploaded digital photos, have been backed up using in multiple ways. I’m now confident that if a similar emergency arose, I would not have to worry at all about keeping our memories safe. That same year my aunt, at the young age of 63, died after a long battle with Frontal Temporal Dementia, a disease very similar to Alzheimer’s. We never asked her to tell her story in her words, with her voice, and her beautiful smile. How will I share my aunt’s legacy? 2000 Paces Memory Organization was created to preserve your memories and your legacy.
