I love it when a boyfriend/husband/son/dad is the one to book the shoot. These men deserve an applause for understanding not every gift comes wrapped in a box.

Sometimes it looks like a weekend getaway, a sunset walk on the beach, and a photo session with the people (and pups) you love most.

Photography can feel like a big investment, but the older I get, the more I realize it’s really an investment in remembering. In celebrating the people who matter. In preserving a season before it slips away.
Because one day these photos won’t just be artwork on a wall—they’ll be proof of a life that was deeply loved.

For those of you who are new to my small spot on the social world….I thought it time to show face. I’m Lauren. I love photography, coffee, the central coast and sunshine.
My faith and my family are most important to me and most of my time is invested into these things, but I love to dabble in all things creative.

I’m not sure what was more impressive in this family photo session. Their daughter’s gymnastics skills off boulders and rocks or the stunning sunset. (Not Ai just God’s magic right there.)

Editing these photos I had a moment of gratitude of how far I’ve come in this craft. I am learning and growing each season to the photographer I feel I am called to be. I’m not done growing but man is my photo work different than that first year. Success and strength are built one practice at a time, beauty doesn’t need editing, and the best backdrops happen when you’re fully present and surrendered to whatever amazingness God’s got for you.

Life with the Audge is nothing short of the good life. She’s smart, strong, silly and sweet. For better or worse she makes us slow down and take a better look at life and what it offers. I can’t imagine life without watching you sparkle and shine going all out in all you do.

I’ve had the privilege of photographing this family more than once now and when ever I get to see them it’s like nature performs magic. This time we got the biggest pelican parade. Sometimes photography is creating but a lot of it is reacting- surrendering to whatever beauty God gives you during your shoot. So I held my breath, said a quick thank you, let that shutter snap and pray I’m in focus 😂.

I’m so grateful to those special clients who come to me each year. It’s a special privilege to watch your kids grow each year from behind my camera- see them change not just physically but their interests evolve. I feel invested in their childhood like I’m documenting it for their adult selves to look back and smile.
