“I had not felt comfortable in front of the camera for a few years. I was tasked to have my headshot taken for my employer and I was not excited about it. I was dreading my appointment because I get nervous in front of the camera, do not know how to pose, and often have disliked the photos taken of me. I carried this mindset- I’m not photogenic. Amy Drake genuinely changed that mindset. She had me come in for hair and makeup and suggested to bring a few wardrobe options to play with. The makeup and hairdo session was fun and it allowed me to settle down a bit before my session with Amy. When Amy and I drove to the location for the shoot she showed me how to pose, had me take breaks in between to help me with any stiffness or nerves of mine, she made me smile, made me laugh, and overall created an environment where I didn’t feel so nervous. If anything she taught me how to have fun posing for the camera. Beyond happy with the session and how my headshot photos came out. “Never did I ever think I would be brave enough to do a photo shoot. I was really nervous but Amy made me feel comfortable from start to finish. Amy basically did all the work! She told me where and how to tilt my head, explained why she was doing what she was doing and made me feel right at home. I basically brought my entire closet with me and the best part was that she selected the clothes that she wanted me to wear for the photo shoot. Not once did I feel embarrassed or unattractive. My biggest fear was that my photos would come out looking terrible but I ended up loving them more than I could have ever imagined! When I came to Amy I was really looking at getting a snapshot of my current age and stage in life. I look forward to doing it again at some other point in my life. When that day comes, I will absolutely be reaching out to Amy again. Amy is much more than a photographer she is a true artist of her craft and takes great care of her clients and her work.
