Bay Area moms, you ready?? Summer sessions are officially open to the public!

The sweet summer slow down is getting its picture taken this year 🤎

These sessions are designed to follow along with your regular Saturday morning (or evening) summer routine. Usually pack the family up and head out on an adventure? Let’s capture it! Prefer a slow start to the day full of multiple cups of coffee and staying in PJs as long as possible? We can capture that too!

If you want photos that actually reflect the life your living, care more about capturing connected moments than getting a pic with everyone smiling at the camera, your kids don’t always cooperate or are wild, shy, a little unpredictable… these summer sessions are for you 🌞

As a mom trying to soak in the moments this summer myself, I’m only opening up 7 spots for sessions June-September. Once they’re gone, they’re gone! I won’t be adding more dates.

As your Bay Area family photographer, there’s ONE thing I need you to know before our session:

there’s no need to rush.

My sessions include plenty of time so you can focus on what really matters; being present in a moment with your family.

You don’t need to worry about spending all day getting ready for your session just to show up and get 20min of photos taken that you felt anxious about the entire time.

You don’t need to worry about the weird things your kids do to show off for strangers taking up 50% of the time allotted for your pictures.

You don’t need to worry about feeling guilty when you look back at those photos because all you remember is how stressed you felt trying to get your squirmy kids to cooperate.

Having a session that’s 90min+ gives you (and your kiddos) space to settle in and get comfy. Get all the weird nerves out of the way. To spend your time IN the moment instead of trying to create a moment just for a photo. To look back at a photo and remember how it felt to be there 🤎

Documentary allows us to look back on photos and feel a moment all over again.

Think about it! Every photoshoot you’ve had has a feeling to it when you look back at the images.

You remember how awkward you felt, or how frustrated you were trying to get everyone ready right before, or how funny it was to be posed in ways your body never naturally moves.

Documentary aims to replace that with the feelings of an actual moment that’s taking place. So we create a moment for you to experience and for me to capture that is reflective of your actual life in hopes that when you look back, it evokes the feelings of a season that’s long gone. It gives you a way to actually relive a part of your life through a picture 🤎

When you spend more time at the beach than at home, this counts as an in-home session 😉

Such a fun time capturing a girls day for this sweet family. We ran around, hunted for seashells, and braved the cold water to play in the waves.

As an in-home family photographer, the biggest hesitation I hear from clients is “but my home isn’t like, nice” 😅

I know so many of us in the Bay Area rent and don’t have much control over the way our space looks. But if I can invite you for a second to consider a different perspective:

the purpose of using your home for photos is more about your family’s comfort and capturing a piece of your history than it is to display your home.

Your kids (and you) are already likely a little on edge when your picture is being taken. Being home helps eliminate extra feelings of discomfort that come with being in an unfamiliar space, allowing a more authentic version of your family to show up in front of the camera.

And!! your home is where a lot of your memories are currently being made. Whether you love the way it looks or not, it is the backdrop of your kids’ childhood memories. It’s where you’ll remember rocking them to sleep, the place where they played for hours together in their bedroom, where you and your spouse stayed up late for dates in the living room watching your favorite show together.

Why is it not worth photographing just because it’s not “pretty”?

I promise you, we can still capture your family beautifully in your regular home 🤎
