Last year, we eloped. But with unexpected and amazing bonuses! Even with no formal invitations and just a location, our friends and family drove the long drive up to Yosemite to watch us say our vows to one another (they all found out! Lol!). They then happily let us leave from there to spend the rest of the day together.
The lighting at sunset was soft, dreamy and so very romantic due to the lingering smoke from recent fires. We danced many times, kissed over and over, almost gave our photographer a heart attack sitting at the edge of the cliff, shared our popped champagne with strangers, danced our first dance to a song given by a group of girls that were watching us, a song that made our hearts skip a beat as we looked at one another and held each other close. After the sun was gone and the night sky set in, we made our way back up the trail with headlamps on our heads and cheeks hurting from all the laughing and smiling.
As we drove back to our resort we spent an hour alone in the car just in awe of one another and OUR magical day. We finished off the night relaxing by fire pits with family, eating Mexican tacos, and making smores. I wanna do it all over again!!
This day, this experience encouraged a passion and excitement. This is something I want to help other couples have together! Intimate, emotive, intentional and unique. Your day does not have to be center pieces, timelines and entertaining guests. There are no rules or guidelines when you elope! You do whatever you want! You can eat pizza on the beach, watch sunrise together before you begin your day, be crazy and hang your feet off a cliff, go on a helicopter ride, float on the water, take a shower in your champagne, write your own vows and be able to easily say them without the nervousness of doing it in front of others, get your dress filthy dirty while in a beautiful place and let loose, and finally just be. This is a day that is for the two of you.
If you have thought about eloping or doing something more low key and intimate...DO IT! Reach out to me to help in any way! Always down for love and adventure.
Happy Anniversary to my husband! I love you more than every page of every romance novel ever written😉
