Pleasingly parked cars. I share my love of car design, architecture & photography here. I love pre-1980ish vehicles, when design trumped gas mileage.

Mostly San Francisco scenes. I usually create a couple portraits a week, and I've got almost 200 in the vault that I'll post weekly. I hope you enjoy!

1957 Chevy Bel Air // I finally got out there early enough in the day to get decent light. ☀️ The Presidio was a military base from the 1840s until 1994. Now it’s a National Park. The last photo is for anyone who has no idea where this is!📍The car is privately owned and has been parking there for years. Clearly they live or work there. Whoever you are, thank you!! 🧡 You’re part of making this city magical.

Did you know? Presidio is a Spanish term for a frontier army post.

What I’m thinking about on this 250th anniversary of the American experiment: Inherent in the design of United States is the principle that there’s no “them”. There’s only “us”. E pluribus unum. One from many. And whenever any leader creates a “them”, it’s for an agenda not aligned with what the founders intended.

I finally met the owner of this gem. Another original owner who lives in the area. I’ve also waited years for a cool car to be parked in front of this cute bungalow. It’s not a legal spot—she hopped out for just a minute—so this was another one of those 🧚‍♀️ moments. ✨✨✨
