It’s been a while since I last photographed at City Hall.

This time, we leaned into a more Korean-inspired aesthetic: understated, elegant, and a little cinematic. Clean lines, soft moments, and a quiet sense of romance.

These days, many photographers have become increasingly focused on the logic of reach, likes, and recommendations, and somewhere along the way, we sometimes forget the original meaning of photography.

For me, the reason I photograph families is actually very simple.I want to preserve this moment for them - the most honest and beautiful version of Mom, Dad, and their big sister, just as they are right now.

Maybe many years from now, when the little baby growing inside Mom has grown up and looks through these photographs, they!! be able to see:
This was the world outside Mom‘s belly before I was born.
This was what Mom and Dad looked like.
This was what my big sister looked like.

And this was the moment when they were all waiting, with so much anticipation, for me to arrive.

To me, that is the most precious meaning of family photography.

Some proposals are moving not because of the ring.

In the sea breeze of Big Sur, he had learned the language she knew best, so he could say in Korean the words he had been preparing for a long time.

From Post Ranch Inn, they wandered from the coast through the redwood forest, and finally down to the beach beneath the setting sun.

The landscape was vast, but those words belonged only to the two of them.

Perhaps that is what true romance is: being willing to take the time to learn your language, just so you can make sure you hear, “I want to walk through life with you.”
