As an American independent, self-employed artist, based on my yearly filed income taxes, I have greatly appreciated having subsidized OBAMAcare for the past 5 years 🙏 . .
. and was JUST notified that my “TRUMP-care” MONTHLY premium is increasing from $126/month > > $1,259/month in 2026!

😮

Oh well . . it was SO nice having health care for a few years!

Whether you are just beginning in photography or if you feel very competent with your photography skills, this course will offer you the opportunity to collaborate with others to learn new skills. During the hands-on portion of the class we will be visiting different locations every night to practice different techniques as well as different lighting situations. Afternoons will consist of hands on learning of how to use your cameras, how to edit your photos, and how to take better photographs. Morning you will be free to do what you like, (Even join for a sunrise photography session if you feel like burning the candle at both ends). You don’t need to own a nice camera to take this course, but it is highly recommended that you borrow or rent one for the duration of the course. (Link in bio)

“Behind the Curtain She Falls” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

AMONG the “fun” aspects of this new body of work is the opportunity to very easily change the colors of the blended abstract image in Photoshop. Of course, I have my favorite combination of two or three colors (more than 3 can get a bit “busy” and “muddy”), such as the blue and red version above . . but if a different color combination resonates more with a viewer, the image is easy to redact. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This particular model LOVES the color red — more specifically: fire engine red — so I made the “curtain” red that is wrapped around her torso (like a dress); in the original abstract photo (also seen above), the “curtain/dress” is a wadded up piece of blue painter’s tape attached to some kind of hose or tubing. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

“Mind is a Razor Blade” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I used to resist naming my pieces of art, not wanting to influence viewers’ visual conversation. However, for this body of work, which has such a personal backstory, I have made a concerted effort to name each individual piece of art, based not-so-loosely on my childhood hallucinatory experiences of uncontrollably floating and falling past blurs of colors and textures .. plus input received from the the individual models with whom I have had the pleasure of creatively collaborating, be it music that resonated with us both during the shoot, or bits and pieces gleaned from their personal stories, etc. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I have worked with professional models, friends, friends of friends, and even strangers I had just met . . who are now friends. One of my main goals with this body of work has been to create intimate figure art using a camera (because I am a “photographer” / mixed media artist) in a way that can be hung on somebody’s wall . . or safely shared on social media. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
DM me for a commission, and let’s make some extraordinary art! 🤗

For the past year+ I’ve been consistently working behind the scenes developing a body of personal creative work in a completely different direction, waiting for the pieces to slowly come together “enough” to publish it on social media. At first glance, it is extremely different than anything else I’ve produced before as a “photographer” . . in fact, I’ve been identifying myself as a mixed media artist who uses a camera + computer + image transfers. This new series, which I call “abstracted figures,” is a combination of my current figure photography blended with my old and new abstract photography. It was inspired by the “Time” theme of the group show of my art studio , where I didn’t play with incorporating literal references to “time” (clocks, hours and minutes, etc), but rather went back to a period of time in my childhood when I frequently suffered from tonsillitis . . and with it a high fever, looping hallucinations of falling, and the vivid and terrifyingly vertiginous sensation of uncontrollably spinning weightlessly past blurs of colors and textures, desperately wanting the experience to stop. Anyway . . recently, although the series will certainly continue to develop and take shape, the aspects of this series have started to come together “enough” that I feel comfortable sharing it. This particular piece is called “This Love, Fist, Scar, Break”
