Are you ready? Its not often we get to see fireworks go off of Golden Gate bridge.
The city’s only official fireworks show is lighting up the Golden Gate Bridge on July 4th! Best spots: Crissy Field, Marina Green, & Pier 39. Starts at 9:30 PM.
Pro-tip: Parking lots are closed and the bridge shuts down to traffic before the show—walk or bike!

Therapy under the Canopy

Walking through Northern California’s coastal redwoods feels less like a hike and more like stepping into a living, breathing sanctuary.

The complexity of the forest makes photographing it challenging. Every year I go back to this forest and work on how I can simplify the scene before me. Sharing some of the things that have helped me.
1. Finding a strong focal point for the viewer's eye to rest on so distractions become less evident. ( frame1)
2. Portraying depth through interplay of light and shadow.(frame2)
3. Finding interesting subjects/locations hidden in the forest. ( frame3)
4. Chasing fog and light. When both are present miracles unfold. (frame4)
5. Finding vantage points that convey a sense of place. ( frame 5)
6.Composing with a strong visual pathway and having accent colors. ( frame 6)

All these images were taken this month while conducting the Redwoods workshop. Next year's registration is now open.

From Barren to Blooming!

The 2026 superbloom in Death Valley is being hailed as the most spectacular display since
2016. After record-breaking rainfall, the desert floor has transformed into a vibrant carpet of
"Desert Gold" sunflowers, purple phacelia, sand verbena, buttercups and more!

282 ft below sea level, where the scale is grand, silence profound, landscape pristine and beauty immeasurable.
I find myself going back again and again, staying for the silence and leaving awestruck. If you have never been to Death Valley, next week the desert will be carpeted with flowers, testimony to nature's resilience creating beauty in the barren.

Winter in Yosemite
These images were taken in the last week of January. We were lucky to witness some very special moments. Winter is by far the best season to be in Yosemite. The serenity, the solitude and the snow transforming the landscape into an unforgettable dream. Looking forward to being back here as soon as the park opens.
