A couple of Milky Way shots in Los Baños shot a couple of days back on my way to visit family in Northern California. Los Baños is located in the Central Valley of California...the bread and basket of the country surrounded by farmlands.

Even though the town is pretty dark, the light pollution to the east from a larger town of Bakersfield and Fresno, leaks into the image. Yet, I was successful in capturing the Milky Way core rising over the town...the first image, over the famous California Aqueduct and the second image over a barn on the outskirts of town.

Pumpkin Patch is a unique place that is set in Ocotillo Wells in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, in Southern California, just northeast of San Diego. It is scattered with orb-shaped rocks which are called "concretion" and may contain a shell or a fossil mixed with sediments formed over thousands of years. Milky Way Season is ON!

I started last week, the International Dark Sky Week, in Borrego Springs.

I appeared on Fox 5 Morning News with anchor, Raoul Martinez(see YT video below), presented at the BS Library on Tuesday, photographed the Milky Way on Wednesday morning, and today, I present at the Santa Ysabel Nature Center between 2-10 pm.

Oh, last weekend, attended artists reception at the Escondido Art Partnership Gallery with friends where my image is on display…the same image of the humming bird hovering over a water fountain that appears in the 2026 issue of the AARP Calendar-April 2026! So as you see, I’ve had a very hectic week! Fun!
