I want to make having your portrait taken a FUN event in your life, whether you need senior portraits, a fresh headshot, or you're a 3-year-old in preschool. My background is in music education, which translates really well to working with kids of all ages. I miss teaching at times, but owning my own business and having the benefit of being my own boss has been a game changer for me. I love that I

can continue to work with children through my school portrait work, and still get to be a grown up with high school seniors and headshot clients. Photography is not a dying art. It's just a changing art. I'd love to help you be part of the story.

Oh, Taylor. I don’t know if you realize what an amazing effect you’ve had on my world. I’ve known your family since before your parents’ epic SpongeBob wedding, where I brought a baby Nico in a stroller. You are easy to be with, a true human chameleon that can adapt to any situation, and truly a delight to photograph. I am thankful for your trust- this was such a fun session. I can say with a fair amount of certainty that not many seniors ask to include their brother in their session- you will be missed next fall, of that I am certain. UC Davis is lucky to have you. 🌊Karni and her parents joined me on a beautiful San Diego afternoon to document her approaching graduation. It was a beautiful day at the pier, and we were also lucky to have a low tide for some beautiful reflection shots. Karni was very prepared and organized for this session, and it made it super fun to just play around with different spots and outfits- so much fun! Congrats to you, Karni, for all of your hard work and the fun in your future! I loved working with you! 🌅

I have been working with for several years now and love the purpose and values of this organization. This year at their Summit, I had new Meta glasses and decided to take you along with me. Sometimes as a solopreneur things get tricky- groups like BFG really help you see the bigger picture and think outside the box. Headshots. If that term conjures up a groan 😩, an eye roll 🙄 or the question, "Is mine too old?"🤔 {if you have to ask, it probably is...}, then it's time to give them another try. 99% of the time when I work with someone I'll ask them, "Have you had your headshot taken before?" Their response tells me everything. Insecurities (we all have them), lighting preferences (super important), retouching questions (that blemish no longer exists- p**f!)- I can tell within moments of asking that question what someone's hangups are, we address them, and then guess what? We. Have. Fun.

This group here? All of these people are gorgeous, friendly, approachable, and all of them had concerns. We talk about them, we check in while I work, and then later they get to pick their faves for a retouch- it's a win-win! 🥰

Oh, sweet Lenny- what a session. 🥹 What stands out most from this session was the joy and celebration. Lenny came with her parents from Arizona for a beachy session, with a little downtown glam for the finishing touches. We went from bright sunny beaches to cotton candy skies with our Downtown San Diego backdrop. We planned, we executed and the results? One amazing grad and happy parents. This was a couple of years ago, but I don't know that I shared it because, well, life. Anyone know where this is? It's a nice little gem of a spot if you like architectural detail but not a ton of walking. Hint: It's close to a very VERY popular San Diego spot, but doesn't have some of the challenges! Let's talk beach sessions. San Diego has so many to choose from, but many of them pose unique challenges. Tides are important to check for most of them, and if we want some "reflection shots" then we really want a loooowwwwww tide.

I often get asked about a few things with these images- one is "how do you get people to look good while they are walking?" It's easy with a little coaching. The other is, "Where are all the people?" I remove them. I am a traditionalist when it comes to the subject being front and center in images, and if someone in neon green is toweling off just over someone's shoulder, they will be removed. The allows the viewer to see you and only you! Swipe to see a beach before & after!
