Let’s talk consultations🗣️

You did it! A new potential client found you and was interested enough that they messaged you, sent an email, or hit “submit” on your inquiry form. You sent your welcome email that details out the need-to-know info before asking them to book a consultation about their project to go over those final details and answer questions. But are you sending a video link or an address?

Pre-2020, in-person consultations were the thing. That face-to-face connection was a powerful touchpoint in getting clients to book, and while that still can very much be the case, platforms like Zoom majorly changed how businesses operate, and in-person consultations have taken a backseat. While it’s obvious that virtual meetings can be a less costly investment from the business owner’s end, it’s not just entrepreneurs that might prefer virtual over in-person. New leads may prefer phone or video calls for convenience, but also because it feels like less of a commitment. Saying, “Yes” or “No” to a proposal can feel a lot less daunting when the face they’re saying it to is over a screen and not a table. It’s also a lot easier to simply “ghost” a business if the proposal isn’t for them.

But as business owners, it’s important that we ask ourselves what’s going to move the needle most. Are we open to booking those over-coffee-conversations at the risk of expense and time to potentially book more qualified leads? Or does the virtual touchpoint allow us to meet with more people with lower risk?

I think the best answer ranges from business to business and strongly depends on the ideal client you’re trying to attract. So what do you think? Should consultations be in-person or virtual? Let me know your thoughts below!

Let’s talk about what makes good brand imagery☕️

Anyone can take simple photos of products. A blank wall with your product showcased front and center will get the job done for a little while. It can be what starts your brand off. It’s what gets you those first handful of sales to get your feet off the ground. And if you’re just starting out, it’s probably wise to wait to get professional brand imagery.

🤔 “Did a brand photographer just say I don’t need brand photography to start out?”

Yep. You heard that right. You don’t need them to start out.

Good brand imagery is an investment. It’s something that takes your brand from the basics and up-levels your offer. As you start, there will be customers ready to buy because they believe in your offer right off the bat! Maybe they’ve known you for a while or are a friend of a friend. But as you grow, new customers may need more convincing. Good brand imagery:

☕️ Creates trust with new customers who might not know you or much about your offer
☕️ Showcases your product or service in a way that potential customers can envision how it would fit into their daily life
☕️ Represents your brand well, tells its story, and sets the tone
☕️ Has a variety of angles and shots in mind to work in all different parts of your marketing strategy

As your business grows, brand imagery becomes a worthwhile investment. Cohesive imagery on your socials, website, and email marketing helps set up the like, know, trust factor that is CRUCIAL for scaling. Need proof? Think about the businesses you buy from most often and take a look through their imagery. Is it cohesive? Is it familiar? Chances are, their brand’s imagery is helping create a trustworthy experience that makes you comfortable handing over your wallet 💵.
