I’ve carried a camera for over a decade… but for the past few years, I’ve also been carrying something heavier.

Since 2011, I’ve had the joy of photographing families, milestones, and love stories through Amber Mott Photography. In 2013, I planted roots in Louisiana—and this state became both my home and my backdrop.

But in May 2022, I quietly closed my calendar. I was facing health issues that needed my full attention. Then, life took me west—to Tucson—for a season of healing, rest, and growth.

And now… I’m home.

Back in Louisiana. Back where the light filters through mossy oaks just right. Back where I first fell in love with storytelling through images.

Amber Mott Photography is officially reopening for sessions!

Whether you’ve followed my work for years or are just finding me—thank you. I’m ready to create beautiful, heartfelt images again. I’m booking a limited number of sessions this season and I’d love to hear from you if you’re ready to capture your story.

Have you ever had to be separated from the love of your life for long periods of time? So far, it's been two years for us. We chose this because we loved Slidell as a place to raise our kids and the family we created here. We didn't want our kids to have to start completely over. We've survived through emails, FaceTime when he's in port, and very short visits of him coming home.

I am excited to have him home in 7 days! Although, it will be another short period followed by a long deployment. I know that this time, although it will seem like forever of him being gone, will go by quickly and we will find things to occupy the hole in our family.

We are taking him back to where he is stationed and plan on taking an adventure along the way. I think this time together with the kids will be great memories for them and I hope down the road they will forget the long time apart but remember the great adventures of this summer.

Why am I even trying to blog again? I don't know, I have a lot to say in the world of photography but getting the words into text is never easy for me.

Enjoy some sunflowers while I attempt to get this blog up and going. Feel free to browse old blog posts as well although there isn't much.😄

Trying to get this blog thing up and going again! The past two years have been pretty trying on me. Maybe I'll get into that another day though. Here's a few sunflower pictures to tide you over. I am so looking forward to going to the sunflower fields again!

🚨BOMBSHELL!!!🚨

The conversation between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard had at the end of the trial has been leaked! The transcript reads:

Heard: Johnny... Hey! Can you turn around and look at me?

Depp: (bows his head)

Heard: Let's talk Johnny... Talk to me.

Depp: (Turns to his lawyer, and his lawyer shakes her head)

Heard: I have something to talk to you about.

Depp (with his head still down): I have nothing to talk to you about.

Heard: Please, look at me!

Depp: Good bye Amber.

Heard: Tell me something Johnny, do you still love me?

Depp: (Keeps quiet)

Heard: Do you still love me Johnny?

Depp (lifts his head, looks her straight in the eyes and says): Amber, this might be the last time we ever speak, so please listen to me very carefully. If you ever get married again please contact Amber Mott Photography. She has my highest recommendation & will treat you right. I think you'll be pleased.

It's International Family Day! My goal as a family this year is to grow our own food. My middle child has started growing garden items to sell. So far she has different varieties of tomatoes and mason jars of different herbs! I have my raised garden put up. and need to plant those seeds! My standing garden has a salad mix planted in it along with spinach. The spinach isn't doing that well so I think I have to move the garden to a shadier spot...
