The Himalayan Gray Langur (Semnopithecus ajax) is a large leaf-eating monkey found in the Himalayan region. It has a gray coat, dark face, long limbs, and a long tail. These langurs mainly feed on leaves, fruits, flowers, and other plant materials.
This individual was photographed in Munsyari, Uttarakhand, India, a mountainous region surrounded by forests and Himalayan peaks. The area's diverse habitats provide important shelter and food for Himalayan wildlife.
Himalayan Gray Langurs are social animals that usually live in groups. They spend much of their time in trees but can also travel across the ground. Their presence reflects the rich wildlife diversity of the Himalayan forests.
