this cozy overcast session reminded me of something i read the other day that said we’re in “may-cember”… i thought this was referring to the cloudy, gloomy, more winter-y weather but apparently this term was coined to describe the circus & overbooked schedule that’s reminiscent of the end-of-year manic sprint.

so here’s to fighting off maycember & simplifying in favor of moments like these — snuggling up with your love on the beach at sunrise

bridal portrait adventures that brought us to a little hidden gem of a port on our way to the reception.

what you see: serene portraits with still water, gorgeous lighting & amazing vantage points

what you don’t see: biting cold winds, a few scouting trips to find this spot, constriction in the parking lot, and a missed GPS turn.

i very rarely post (and shoot) graduation photos these days as much of my business has evolved towards serving my couples. even still, there’s something so special about celebrating milestones like these. you can feel the disbelief in how fast time flies, excitement for the future, maturity through the journey & gratitude for the good ole days.

i’m often most nostalgic during these sessions, reminiscing on how I began my business as purely a senior & portrait photographer well over a decade ago. and how i, too, felt those feelings of joy, anticipation & sentimentality starting new chapters and taking a leap of faith into something new.

so tonight, i thought it’d be timely to bring back an old friend of a hashtag - a - in honor of sweet mya & a few thoughts currently ruminating through my head ✨
