“Soul portraits” have been whispering to me for a while.
So we tried it.
Simple hair, almost no makeup.
No pressure to look a certain way.
Just talking, breathing, watching what surfaced
when the performance fell away.
It’s unsettling to see your own face like that.
Raw. Unstyled. Unsmiling.
There’s no distraction.
Just you.
And also — something quiet is revealed.
A strength. A softness. A truth.
I don’t know if I’ll ever offer this as a service.
Right now, it’s just a quiet experiment in witnessing.
A study of what happens when a woman stops performing —
even for a lens.
Let it be art.
Let it be curiosity.
Let it be sacred.
