11 months apart… and finally HOME. 🇺🇸❤️

After 11 long months of missed hugs, milestones, bedtime routines, and simply doing life together, this family finally got to wrap their arms around their Marine again. 🥹

The way those babies ran straight into Dad’s arms, the tears, the smiles, and that first long-awaited hug with his wife… these are the moments that remind me why I love capturing military families so much.

🌈 National Rainbow Baby Day — August 22nd 🌈

Some sessions will forever hold a little extra piece of my heart… and this is one of them. 🤍

Today, on National Rainbow Baby Day, I get to celebrate this beautiful little rainbow, Maya. 🌈🎀

A rainbow baby is a baby welcomed after the loss of a pregnancy or child—a beautiful reminder that even after the darkest storms, there can still be hope, healing, and so much love.

But Maya’s story is especially close to my heart because I didn’t just have the privilege of photographing her newborn photos… I had the incredible honor of being the surrogate who carried her. 🥹🤍

Being able to help bless the most amazing family with the baby girl they had prayed and waited so long for is something I will never be able to fully put into words. Watching their journey lead to this tiny, perfect little girl made every part of surrogacy worth it.

And then getting to step behind my camera and capture Maya’s newborn photos made everything come full circle. 📸🌈 From carrying her beneath my heart to capturing these tiny details for her family to treasure forever… what an incredible gift this journey has been.

I will forever be grateful that I was trusted to play such a special part in bringing their beautiful rainbow baby into the world. Maya, you were loved, prayed for, and wanted long before you ever took your first breath. 💕

Another AMAZING Family Day + Graduation week at MCRD San Diego! 🇺🇸🦅

There’s something so special about watching these young men go from recruits—running together, pushing through exhaustion, and standing in formation—to finally marching across that parade deck as United States Marines.

But the part that gets me every single time is what happens afterward. The moment the ceremony ends and families finally get to wrap their arms around their Marine after weeks of waiting, worrying, writing letters, and counting down the days. Those hugs say EVERYTHING.

Being able to photograph the entire story—from the intensity and discipline of Family Day to the pride of graduation and those emotional reunions afterward—is something I will never take for granted.

Congratulations to the newest Marines of Hotel Company at MCRD San Diego and to the families who supported them every step of the way. You did it. 🇺🇸

And to the mamas… that first hug after graduation will forever be one of my favorite moments to capture. 🥹❤️

There’s just something about USMC boot camp in San Diego that hits different.

Don’t get me wrong—Parris Island will always have its own history, tradition, and grit. But standing on MCRD San Diego, surrounded by those iconic arches and palm trees, watching a company of recruits become United States Marines… there’s a feeling here that’s hard to put into words.

Maybe it’s seeing the transformation written all over their faces. Maybe it’s the moment that Eagle, Globe & Anchor is finally placed in their hand. Or maybe it’s watching all that toughness disappear for just a second when they finally get to wrap their arms around the people they love. ❤️

As a photographer, these are the moments I live for—the formation, the pride, the details, and especially those first hugs. Because years from now, the uniforms may be tucked away and the memories may start to blur, but these photographs will bring them right back to the day they earned the title MARINE.

Parris Island has my heart… but MCRD San Diego? It just hits different.

After 24 years of honorable service, today marks the end of an incredible chapter for LtCol Johnson as he officially retires from the United States Marine Corps.

Twenty-four years of unwavering dedication. Twenty-four years of leadership, sacrifice, and selfless service to our nation. From countless hours away from family to leading Marines with integrity and honor, LtCol Johnson has left a legacy that will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of serving alongside him.

The retirement ceremony was a beautiful reminder that behind every uniform is a family who serves too. Thank you to those who stood beside him through every deployment, every promotion, every challenge, and every victory.

As a photographer, it was truly an honor to capture such a meaningful milestone. Moments like these remind me why I love what I do—preserving the memories that represent a lifetime of commitment, sacrifice, and pride.

Congratulations, LtCol Johnson, on an extraordinary 24-year career in the United States Marine Corps. Your service has made a lasting impact, and your next chapter is so well deserved.

There is just something magical about sunrise sessions. 🌅✨

The world is quiet, the light is soft, and for a little while, it’s just your family, the sound of the waves, and memories being made.

This sweet family embraced the early morning, and it was so worth it. From giggles in Mom and Dad’s arms to tiny sandy toes and three generations together, every image tells a story of love, connection, and the moments that matter most.

These are the photos that will only become more meaningful with time. The baby who won’t stay little forever. The parents soaking in every stage. The grandparents making memories they’ll treasure for a lifetime.

After years of hoping, praying, waiting, and trusting the journey, this beautiful family is finally complete.

These aren’t just family photos—they’re forever family photos. A celebration of answered prayers, unwavering faith, and a love that never gave up. Their sweet surrogate baby girl is finally home, wrapped in the arms of the family who dreamed of her long before they ever got to hold her.

Watching this family become a family of five has been one of the greatest honors. The joy in these images, the proud smiles of big brother and big sister, and the overwhelming love surrounding this precious little girl tell a story that words could never fully capture.

Surrogacy is so much more than carrying a baby. It’s carrying hope. It’s helping write the final chapter of someone’s infertility journey and the first chapter of a little girl’s beautiful life.

A week ago, I had the incredible honor of bringing this precious little rainbow baby into the world through surrogacy. 🌈🤍

As many of you know, I was a surrogate for this amazing family. After six long years of hoping, praying, heartbreak, and waiting, they finally get to hold the little girl they dreamed of for so long. Being trusted to help make that dream come true is something I will never take for granted.

A rainbow baby is a baby born after the loss of a previous pregnancy or infant. Just like a rainbow appears after a storm, these babies represent hope, healing, and the promise that beauty can come after heartbreak. They never replace the babies who came before them, but they are a beautiful reminder that love and hope continue to shine.

Now, getting to photograph sweet Maya’s newborn session just one week after bringing her into the world made this journey even more emotional. Watching her parents look at her with so much love and gratitude filled my heart in a way I can’t even put into words.

As both her surrogate and her photographer, these images will always hold a special place in my heart. They tell the story of answered prayers, unwavering hope, and a family that never gave up.

Welcome to the world, beautiful Maya. 🌈💕 You are so deeply loved, and I will forever be grateful to have been a small part of your story.
