Thinking about my 2026 brides planning a wedding during uncertain times.

I know it can feel overwhelming when you look at the news headlines lately. That can’t be easy while trying to plan one of the most meaningful days of your life.
But life keeps moving. People are still falling in love, growing their families, and experiencing the miracle of life every single day. God is still in control, and none of this is a surprise to Him.

Your wedding day is so much more than just a party. It’s the celebration of a sacred union that God Himself designed from the very beginning.
So don’t be afraid to plan the beautiful day you’ve been dreaming of, whether that’s in a chapel, surrounded by nature, or at your hometown courthouse. Love is still worth celebrating in the middle of uncertain times.

Taylor & Ryan’s engagement photos scream cinema love 🎬✨

One of the things Taylor shared with me was that she and Ryan are huge movie people, so I knew I had to recommend the Majestic Theater for their engagement session and I’m so happy they chose this beautiful location.
Their photos came out looking like a movie dream, with them as the main characters 🤩

Your engagement session is really just another date 💃… the only difference is it’s being captured.

You’re not there to perform or figure out how to pose perfectly. You’re just hanging out together, laughing, walking, talking, doing what you already do, just a little more intentionally.

That’s why I love engagement sessions so much 🥲. It slows you down in the best way. No distractions, no rush, just the two of you actually spending time together while I document it all.
So instead of stressing about “what to do,” think of it like this: it’s a date night you’ll actually get to keep forever 🤍

After announcing my Rooted and Called series last week, where I’ll be photographing and sharing real stories from the heart and soul of businesses in our hill country community, I’m so excited to finally share the selected businesses.

First, I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who submitted their stories. It was truly an honor to read through each one, so many of them were inspiring and meaningful. Because of the amazing response, I’m already thinking about making this a yearly series 😊

8 years ago, we said “I do” 💍

Being a wedding photographer has given me a special appreciation for all the real moments on a wedding day; the laughs, the tears, and everything in between. It makes me even more grateful for my own journey with my love: the everyday adventures, the growth, and the choice to show up for each other every day.

Why wedding photography costs what it costs 🤍✨

Let’s talk about it, because I know this is one of those things that can feel confusing when you first start planning.
You get engaged, start looking around, and suddenly it’s like… wait, why does wedding photography cost that much? 😅
And honestly, it’s a fair question.
But here’s the part no one really explains:
You’re not just paying for a day.
You’re paying for everything before it, during it, and after it.

🌷 First, there’s the experience.
You’re hiring someone to step into one of the most emotional, fast-paced days of your life and handle it with calm, confidence, and intention.
Someone who knows when to step in, when to step back, how to find good light in chaos, and how to capture moments you didn’t even realize were happening 📸

🌷 Then there’s the time you don’t see.
Your wedding day might be 6 - 8 hours but your gallery is weeks of work after.
Culling thousands of images, editing every photo by hand, and making sure your gallery feels like your day and not just random pictures ✨

🌷 And then there’s the investment on our side.
Professional gear, backups, lenses, software, education, all the things that make sure nothing goes wrong (and if it does, you’d never know).
But more than anything…
You’re investing in your memories 🤍
The moments you missed. The ones you’ll relive for years. The story that lives on long after the day is over
So no, you’re not just paying for pictures. You’re investing in your story and the way it will be remembered.
