I go with my dad and brother to the black river to take photos, as you have seen before. However, due to the fact that I like to be in me own pictures, I also like to ask people we meet to take a photo of us. My dad tells me that is how people did it before, that asking for help was common.

My dad took me to the Black River trail in Watertown, NY. We have been several times now, but this was from our first trip. I used my Canon AE-1 Program and Ilford film. The lens is one I got from my Papa from a canon camera he had put away in a bag.

I always sneak a picture of my dad in and he had to explain to me that the cross in front of the “no swimming” sign probably means some one died here. My favorite one is of the fisherman.

More of the same, my second roll. I made dad stand there for this one with the ducks behind him. I also kept insisting on the barrel. The barrel was something dad was impressed with after he saw it. Sometimes it helps to be six and short for perspective. I have always enjoyed the fish here. I’ve photographed them with my dads phone and my original camera.

These are my next six photos from roll 2. They are all from the San Antonio Botanical garden. I snuck the one of my dad, those people had asked him to take their photo on their phone. The ducks follow us around and are easy to photo. The metal art work is one of my favorite things there. The bonsai tree is made of legos. I am glad I photographed it, they took the art down on the 1st. Enjoy!

I asked my parents for a real camera for Christmas and got a Canon AE-1 program, just like my dad's. It is film and currently we are shooting black and white for now. Dad decided to go with film so that I could really learn from the ground up. Also, he decided that we would do the developing of the film ourselves and we have been! This is my second roll...dad loaded the first one incorrectly and I am not going to let him live down that we had to do that work over again.

Aside from minor dust removal, these photos are straight from camera.

Currently I am only picking shots and focusing the camera, so aperture and shutter are being chosen by the camera.
