Sometimes, we have to give ourselves permission to slow down. 🤍
Having a break this summer has actually been good for me, especially with the extreme Texas heat. The heat drains me physically, and I have truly needed this time to rest and focus on myself.
For those who may not know, I live with Fibromyalgia, which means my body experiences chronic pain and fatigue. My lupus has been in remission for 7 years, and I am incredibly grateful for that. However, even with my lupus in remission, the physical demands of photography can be very stressful on my body.
My mental and physical health have become a priority. Learning to put myself first has not been easy. Photography has been such a huge part of my life, and I will always love the art of photography and the creativity behind it. 📸
The reality is that photography is physically demanding, and I know that eventually I may have to step away and cut some ties with the work that my body can no longer handle. That is a difficult thing to admit when you love something so deeply.
But for now, I am choosing to take things slow.
As the weather begins to cool down, I am thinking about offering a limited number of sessions again around November. I will listen to my body, move at my own pace, and continue creating when I am able.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me, encouraged me, and understood that sometimes slowing down doesn't mean giving up. It simply means choosing yourself, your health, and your well-being. 🤍
Photography will always hold a special place in my heart. For now, I am just learning that it's okay to love what you do while also giving yourself permission to rest.
