My favorite part about senior sessions is this.

You show up a little unsure… kinda stiff, not really knowing what to do, maybe feeling a little awkward. Totally normal. And then a few minutes in, you loosen up. You stop thinking about the camera and just start being yourself—and it shows.

That’s the part I love every single time.

Senior year just hits different. You’re right on the edge of what’s next, even if you don’t fully know what that looks like yet. Getting to capture you as you are right now—that’s my favorite part.

I didn’t start photographing seniors because it was a “good market.”

I started because this season—senior year—is just different.

It’s that in-between where they’re holding everything at once… who they’ve been, who they’ve become, and everything they’re about to step into. And that matters to me.

This was never about finding a niche. It’s something I genuinely believe in.

These sessions aren’t just about pretty photos. They’re about capturing something real from a season that doesn’t come back around.

The gown didn’t arrive until spring. The session was done. And now graduation is weeks away.

The ANSWER? It all depends. If you are set on specific outfits you want to wear, then we start there and then choose the location that will work with your vibe.

But if you’re set on a location, then we start there and find the outfits that work best with the background and vibe of the location.

There is really no right or wrong answer. It’s all in the planning… and you can bet I will help you make sure that it all meshes well together!

I always encourage my seniors to bring something meaningful and special to their session. And most always do!

This year, I’ve had senior clients bring their bible to their photo session and I don’t mean just one senior client… but quite a few! So much that I started to wonder if it was a trend.

Whatever it is… I’m just happy that a bible is meaningful enough for them to bring along to their photo session. It gives me so much hope for our future.
