Yesterday was a big one- my daughter’s senior prom.

In the middle of the pre-dance chaos, I managed to grab this quick photo of her and her friend before they headed out. No off-camera flash, no big production- just a dad with a camera trying to freeze a moment before it moved on. 🌅

Sometimes the most important photos aren’t the ones with the perfect studio lighting; they’re the ones that capture the right person at the right time. These years go by fast, but I’m glad I have this one to keep.

There’s a landmark study at Emory University established a clear link: children who grow up surrounded by high-quality family and individual portraits in the home have a significantly higher sense of self-esteem and belonging.

I spent some time this weekend reflecting on why I do this work, and I always seem to come back to the same thing: the feeling of seeing a portrait like this one of finished, printed, and ready to be passed down.

I’ve spent the first couple of weeks of 2026 working behind the scenes refreshing my website to better share the work I want to create.

Whether it’s a high school senior milestone, a family legacy, or the new portrait project I'm starting called "She Who Serves: A Portrait Series", my focus shifted towards creating more than just digital files. I want to create portraits you can hold- heirloom albums and custom wall portraits that tell a story for generations.
